Tidy Up Maid & Maintenance

I contacted Tidy-Up Maids via e-mail to get more information on cleaning my house, such as how many hours they spent or if they stayed until the job was done. I was informed that for my size of house (2400 square feet), it would take 3 hours to clean, but all of their maids have been trained in speed cleaning. I thought that I would give their service a try and asked for cleaning every other week. I was at work when the maid was supposed to arrive, but I did receive a call from her 40 minutes before her start time for directions to my house. Everything seemed to be going fine until I got home and saw what little had been done. The office, dining room, and living rooms weren't touched, picture frames and knick-knacks weren't moved to dust under, and my vacuum was left in the upstairs hallway and hadn't been emptied. The floor in the master bathroom hadn't been swept or mopped. I know this because my husband had trimmed his beard that morning before leaving for work, and some hair fell on the floor. I purposely didn't clean it up to see if the maid would get it (something incredibly obvious), and the pile of hair was still on the floor when I got home. I immediately called the number I was given to complain, and the phone number was temporarily out of service. I e-mailed Nicole to let her know what had happened and to cancel my service, and have yet to receive a response. With all of the cleaning companies out there, I definitely would not recommend this company to anyone.

It was an interesting experience. They were scheduled to arrive at my home at 1:00 p.m. I had scheduled my entire Saturday around the appointment. 1:30 came...nothing. I had to call, and I was told that the lady assigned to my home had been driving back and forth past my place and simply couldn't find it. She asked if we could reschedule. First of all, I had adjusted my entire schedule. Second of all, she must have forgotten that she had told me on the phone days prior that she had done cleaning in my neighborhood in the past and knew where I live. Instead of coming back, herself, she sent two other ladies to my home to get the job done. They arrived at 3:30 p.m (2 1/2 hours later than expected). I must say that the two girls were extremely polite and courteous the entire time they were here. I had to leave for an appointment by 6:00, but between the two of them, they felt that they could get the work completed. I will have to say that they worked consistently, but when all was said and done (at 6:00 p.m.) there were tasks unfinished: trash not emptied from trash cans blinds left up laundry room floor not swept/mopped beds made incorrectly entry not swept or mopped glass-top tables left streaked had to ask for the dining room table to be cleaned Because they were running out of time, they asked if there were any tasks that I wanted to make certain were completed before they left. In a "spring cleaning," I would expect that ALL tasks would be completed. They also let me know that their boss told them never to stay in a home beyond three hours, even if the work was not completed. In addition, the shelves in my bedroom came crashing down while they were being cleaned. Two items were broken, and everything fell on top of my fireplace, knicking the top surface of the fireplace. The wall is also damaged and will need to be repaired. Lastly, on their way out, they broke one of my clay flowerpots just outside the front door. I should say, though, that they came back in to notify me that it had been broken. As far as courtesy and kindness are concerned, the two young ladies would get a grade of A. As far as the experience I had getting someone here, the quality of the work, and the items that were destroyed, there's much to be desired. The price would have been reasonable if the experience had been of a higher quality. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Be wary of the workers you find via Craigslist.
