LOWES

I like that our door was getting changed and it was a nice door. They were very short and not very nice. They installed the door, took forever. They didn't show up on time, it was way past dark. We may have ordered it in September but we didn't get it till November. It was snowing, it might actually been a year before last now that I'm thinking of it. It was snowing and it was cold and it was late, it was after dark and I didn't think they were going to get done. They ended up tearing our screen and didn't tell us when they installed it. They tore in the top of the screen because we have screen doors on the outside and didn't say anything about it. So I called him immediately the following day because it was so late when they finished and I didn't see it till the next day and I called and he said he would tell Lowe's and they would have to order new screen doors and I waited and waited and it was like 6 weeks later, I've been calling him again because I have his direct phone number and he wouldn't answer my calls. I called Lowe's and talked to my contact there which I can't remember his name, I have it on my phone. He's a great guy at Lowe's. He said that they never turned it in, that it needed to be replaced and he was very upset with the installer because had the guy turned it in when I told him to, it could have been covered. And as it was, then Lowe's had to buy a screen door out of their pocket for me to replace the one that was torn. They weren't very happy with the situation and I don't know where it went from there but then I told them that I would not have any more doors installed by the same installers. It was a good price, it was on sale. For whatever reason it was a power sale that they have in the fall.

They were very detail oriented, they were very respectable of your property and the fact that they were putting in expensive windows for you and they were taking care with putting them in. They were also good at answering questions. Five years ago, he was fine, he was perfect. It took them just a part of the afternoon to finish the work.

I like the products. I dislike the way they handled the installation. Pricing was pretty good. They were professional.

The carpet installation per se went well. They were nice as well as prompt. When they were installing the carpet (after having removed the old carpet), they told us that the closet doors would need to be cut down to close over the carpet. We were then told that they did not provide that service. When contacted by Lowes about how the installation went, I told them that the doors needed to be cut and that the job was not finished. The person on the phone spoke to the department manager who said that the carpet people did not do that type of work. There are two issues here. The first is that the person who came out to measure the room for the job should have alerted us that there was an issue with the door clearance. Second, when Lowes was notified of the issue, they should have at least arranged for someone to fix the doors. As it stands now, we need to locate another contractor to finish the job Lowes started. My complaint is not with the contractor who did the carpet installation. It is with Lowes and the person who did the initial measurement, but mostly Lowes. They were the prime contractor for this job, and should have seen it through to the end instead of just saying it wasn't their fault.
For our future needs, we will be using another company who stands behind their work.

Lowe's used Baker's as a subcontractor and I believe Bakers then subcontracted the ceramic tile work to another contractor (not quite sure how this worked because I still went thru Bakers) They started the ceramic tile on a Monday and finshed on Thurs. This was a large room. Two workers one of which did most of the mixing and the other the actual work of grouting and laying the tile. The grout job was less than satisfactory to us. Not consistent - some places the grout was not even and a different color (probably didn't get mixed good). They took the baseboard off and grouted along the wall. Bad news and the baseboard would not cover the places where the grout was not even. They also did not do a good job in cleaning the tile. We mopped the floor three times and still could not get it to look good. I guess it was the dust from the grout. Lowe's did make it good as much as they could but it was not what we would consider a professional job. Because they took the baseboard off and the grouting was so terrible we ended up having to put a shoe molding along with the baseboard to cover the grout line. Lowe's did provide the shoe molding at no additional cost but it still made more work for us than we had originally planned on. Lowe's needs to give a better feel for what to expect when you are using them to lay ceramic tile.

After choosing the window I wanted a represtative came and made a rough measurment, recorded all details I chose and made a contract with details and cost. Later the installer made final measurments and the order was placed. When window was ready the installer put it in, cleaned up and had me to inspect.

They did a nice job. The carpet, after they got it laid, looks very nice. They went in there and took extra measures. They covered up whatever needed to be covered up. They cleaned up after they were done.

I was pleased with the service. They replaced the frame and everything. It was a good job. They sell good products.

WE ARE REALLY PLEASED WITH THE JOB THEY DID. THEY WERE FRIENDLY AND COURTEOUS. THEY DID ALL THE CLEAN UP AND HAULED AWAY THE OLD CARPETING AND PADDING. I RECOMMEND USING THEM.

THE QUALITY OF CARPET IS GOOD, BUT THEN THEY STARTED ADDING IN THE LABOR AND THE PRICE JUST STARTED GOING HIGHER. THE GUY WHO INSTALLED THE CARPET DID ALL THE CLEAN UP AND WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE.

ALL WORK WAS DONE ON TIME AND WAS WELL DONE. THE MEN WERE COURTEOUS. THEY MOVED THE LARGE APPLIANCES AND CHINA CABINET AS NEEDED. WHEN THEY LEFT EVERYTHING WAS NEAT AND CLEAN.
