Description of Work: Home Remodelers touted themselves as being more expensive because they were the best. Nothing in our experience with them has held up to this promise. Home Remodelers tore off our old roof and replaced it with new shingles and replaced some wood on the fascia and soffit. First off - They failed to button the roof up halfway through the job, it rained and water came in the house in several places. Our drywall and light fixtures were damaged. No attempt was made to clean up the water and secure the roof so, for several days it rained inside our house. When they returned their solution was to spray paint the ceiling and walls with "Kills" spray on primer.They said the light fixtures were " faulty " I took the light fixtures apart and dried them out myself. I re - installed them and they worked fine. AND - The roof was never completed after we paid them in full. The owner Tim Stambaugh stated that he would have his crew out to finish up the following day. That was on the 20th of August. It is now the 4th of September with no - call no show. I made several phone calls and heard many excuses from Tim, first he said that his foreman Chuck had a death in the family {his Aunt} then, he {Chuck} was hit by a car, then he said he was waiting to hear from someone. He actually became confrontational with us when I asked him when he was going to complete the roof, as we knew it was going to rain soon and didn`t want more leaks. Also they have not installed two 21" skylights that are still sitting in our garage in boxes. Tim said that the skylights would not fit on our roof and he would have to charge us a restocking fee of $385.00. I told him that was unacceptable since neither he or his crew measured before they ordered the skylights. The flashing on the gables was never finished.The flashing on both the chimney and the gables has a 4" gap where water can get in and the roof in the rear of the house is actually lacking the California cut it needs to prevent leaks. The carpentry work on replacing some of the fascia and soffit board is atrocious looking and completely inadequate. After our THIRD attempt and no response to get them to finish the job we called in another contractor. UPDATE - 09/08/12 The roof is leaking. Our new roof is a disaster! We will have to have these repairs done immediately to prevent further damage to our home.
