I called Edington on 1/19/16 based on a recommendation from my brother to come in and take a look at my furnace. The furnace was not running, and is quite old. I suspected that I needed a new furnace, but wanted a professional to come out to confirm death of existing / quote me a new one. During the call, I informed the service dispatcher on the phone that I had several electric space heaters that made this a non-emergency call (being the middle of Jan, I felt it to be prudent information), and that I wanted to make an appointment to have someone come out. After discussing options we settled on a 3:30pm appointment that would occur the following day. In the discussion with the Edington rep, I informed him that I would be taking off work early to ensure that someone would be there, and asked him to have the tech call me at my cell phone number when he was close to arriving, which I provided, along with my office phone number that I asked to be used if anyone needed to speak with me before the afternoon of the appointment. The next day comes, I take off work halfway through the day and get home by 3:15, and wait until 3:45 until I called Edington. I did not get anyone to answer the phone, and left a polite message basically saying, my name, phone number, address, etc, that I had a 3:30 appointment, and that I just wanted to call and see when they thought the tech might be by my home. I get that there are windows of time at play most of the time with service tech calls, so I patiently waited for about 20 minutes, and called back, being sent to the answering machine again, but not leaving a message. I then called back about every 10 minutes, knowing that the office closed at 5pm, never receiving an answer from anyone, or a returned phone call from my earlier message. I double checked that I had been calling the correct phone number several times, even though the answering machine message I kept getting clearly identified it as the correct place to be calling, and the number was correct. I again called just after 5pm to the office, and was automatically forwarded on to what I perceived as a manager's cell phone, which I based upon the voice mail message, which did identify him as being with Edington. I left a message on this voice mail service again explaining the situation, and asking for a call back.
To date, no one from Edington has returned my phone calls, or my messages regarding their missing of my appointment. So, while I have no applicable thoughts on their pricing, or quality of service, their professionalism, punctuality, and responsiveness is sub par. I can understand mis-noting a phone number, or possibly some other outlying event that made it impossible to make my appointment. However, not returning two different voice mails, left on two different voicemail services, not answering the office phone for an hour and half, and just not bothering to call to apologize for wasting my time is extraordinarily unprofessional.
