Joe showed up on time and kept me informed on the progress. He removed all items in the laundry room water heater, water softener, washer & dryer. Joe installed new flooring, new water heater, replaced the water softener and washer and dryer. He also painted the walls and ceiling. Great job!

Mr Ward was professional and knowledgeable !!! He has completed multiple jobs for us. He is our go to for all the work we have done. Would not hire anyone else!!! Highly recommend 1st in Home!!!!

Joe and his team were amazingly quick to fit us into their schedule, working efficiently to build the back deck exactly as we hoped. They were able to accommodate our schedules and took great care of the property and our dogs while they worked. They offered solutions for every need that popped up and handled extra requests without blinking an eye. They even worked over the weekend to finish up. We are thrilled with the end result!

Our parent's old floor was horrendous and damaged, creating a trip hazard for them. Mr. Ward and his crew installed the new floor and it is perfect! We are very pleased with the work! Mr. Ward and his crew are prompt, professional and courteous. We will definitely hire them again for future projects!

We were in need of a quick turn on installing a large air conditioner unit in our attic. Joe and his team were incredibly responsive, quickly coming by to assess the situation, advise on the best path forward and help us get the job done well. He removed our existing window, built out a frame to hold the unit, and finished the exterior so we’d be ready to go. The job was done incredibly well - I feel confident in knowing that we were taken care of, and the service was second to none. I’m so appreciative for the expertise and efficient, quality work to improve our home.

We liked Joe's team so much we had them back when we decided to prepare everything for selling our home. We especially needed interior painting done, but we also needed overhead lights installed in the bedrooms, concrete repair in our driveway, and kitchen cabinet repairs. His quote was almost the lowest of the requests we sent out, but we knew his quality of work would be fantastic. The lighting went in well, and the various other items we asked him to take care of were handled very well. What amazed me most was where it came to painting. He heard that we were preparing to sell our house and he took it personally. He was determined that the jobs we were asking him to perform were "show-worthy" when we put our house on the market. In other words, he didn't just throw primer and paint on the walls. He sanded the walls down, cleaned them and spent as much time on wall prep as painting itself. When he was done, the walls looked better than when we purchased our house! They kept the area clean and manageable for us while they painted. He and his team also calked and repaired any defects along the floorboards and everywhere else without my even asking. The entire house seems fresh and updated now. He also repaired some concrete on our front steps that was falling apart. It was shaped expertly and the color is the only way you can tell it was recently repaired. Lastly, he repaired some aluminum siding that had been damaged in a windy storm. We're feeling much better about selling our home now. You won't regret going with Joe and 1st In Home Improvements for pretty much anything in and around your home.

In a word- fantastic. Joe and his team arrived 5 minutes early and were polite and professional for the entirety of the 2 day job. We planned out where to put our light fixtures and Joe got to work. I cringed when he found some unexpected obstacles in the ceiling, but he said he'd factored that into the quote (it wasn't anything huge, but many contractors will start to add-on for anything!) The team cleaned up the job after the 1st and 2nd workday and the work location was cleaner than before they got here (thanks Natasha)! The job was finished on time and exactly on budget. They maintained a positive attitude throughout and were genuinely nice people to be around. We will be hiring them for any future job we need.

Mr. Ward and his crew was very friendly and prompt. They was very professional and very knowledgeable. They did a wonderful job on painting the exterior of the house. They also took out and reinstalled my new windows that a previous contractor installed incorrectly. They also insulated and wrapped my windows just to begin several projects. Mr. Ward tackled projects in every room of my house, such as gutting my kitchen and bathroom, replaced and customized cabinets, shelves, replaced flooring, drywall, electrical outlets, updated and installed lights and switches built closets, painted walls and doors, the list goes on. I highly recommend Mr. Ward and his company for all your construction needs. I promise you won't be disappointed.

my luck changed the minute I found Joe Ward of 1st. In Home Improvement on Angie's List. wanting to move into a Mother in Law suite behind my sister's house we discovered damage then intesapated. Rotten floors resulting in sub flooring joices and beautiful wooden floors. Several smaller projects turning into major constricting broken pipes and busted drained. Mr Ward has now taken on the task on replumbing the whole apartment, new electric and new floors painting inside and outside wrapping windows and winterized the whole outside. I am very thankful for Angie's List and most of all Joe Ward and crew with 1st In Home Improvement

Excellent! Joe is extremely easy to work with. Has a great crew including Jack and Natosha, They are very punctual, attentive to their work, and communicate very well. Pricing is very good and will stay with your job until it is complete. They do not hop around from job to job and do your work a little at a time. Highly recommended!

Excellent, high quality, timely work by a professional, knowledgeable gentleman! 1. Went from an old stained tub and surround to a fresh "caulk free" snap together set. Removal, dealing with party wall issues, plumbing updates, new shower valves, install, and drywall repair came to $2800 plus materials. This included a free follow up adjustment! 2. Wall mounted saggy sink ripped out and replaced with standard vanity with plumbing updates; was a quick lovely "add on" project that was well worth the extra bucks. 3. Installed fans where there was no fan before. Cut ceiling, wire, and mount fan through attic- $400 each and worth no longer sweating at night! 4. Simple fixture swaps were worth paying Joe to go at with no fear instead of being nervous about touching wires myself. Joe was quick, courteous, and kind. He was more than willing to offer us advice and guidance on projects we were attempting DYI. He was focused and thorough but always patient enough to stop and explain processes and answer questions. I have never had to hire a contractor before, and I am so glad Joe was recommended to me to take the nerves out of the process! Completely recommend for any home improvement project you may have.

I called for some various home repairs, but once a leak was discovered in the flooring, Joe and his team agreed to complete a fast turn bathroom remodel. He was thorough, attentive to detail, and incredibly communicative. The quality of the work was really good across the board. He was always on time and was incredibly helpful in guiding me through the process, making recommendations and problem solving on the fly, even responding late nights and weekends. He was gracious with issues that arose throughout the project and Dedicated to making sure things happened just the way I wanted. He took the additional time to do things the right way and make sure everything would be easier to address if future issues arise. He and the team were amazing with my three dogs and cared for my house the way I would, ensuring things were cleaned up each day. I’m thrilled with the results and highly recommend this team for any project.

I had broken, cracking and eroding brick front steps. Joe gave timely description and estimate on the spot and followed up with exact day/time he would do the repair. His repair result looks great, no way a homeowner could have done as well or as fast!

We have used Joe a few times already when we discovered a leak in my daughters room that was coming from around the chimney. We took pictures and texted them to Joe who called right away! He came out of Monday (we sent the text on Saturday afternoon) and he fixed it right a way for us. Fantastic job as usual. Joe installed a new backsplash in my kitchen and it looks wonderful! He helped with the tile selection to find what would look best in my kitchen and the installation went very smoothly.
