I wasn't really happy with them. They told me that they would come back and do a bunch of stuff like recheck and reseed. They never did any of that. I had a whole payment on them to finish all the job they promised to do. They were doing a spring cleanup and they told me that they would send a crew. They sent one guy and a leaf blower. I would not use them again.

Contact was difficult.  We had left 3 phone messages over the course of a week before they got back with us.  We wrote this off to it being spring, and probably the "busy season" for this type of thing.  A friend had recommended the company, so we stuck with it until they called.
Once we made contact, they sent a rep. out to survey the yard and talk about what we wanted done.  He was very courteous and professional.  He acknowledged that the stones were a significant issue and we set up service.
Service day came.  The crew arrived and began working before i got home from work; as arranged.  They had done a pretty good job with the stones.  there were some left, but there were A LOT to begin with, and the Rep. had told me that not every stone would be picked up, so I knew that this was the case.  Over-all i was pleased with that.
I got home and my fiancee had been there for a while.  We went out on the deck as one of the workers (who was also very courteous and friendly) was throwing down grass seed.  Notice I stated "throwing down" seed.  He was literally reaching his hand in the bag and throwing seed on the ground.  I'm no professional, but this doesn't seem like the best practice for this.  For the cost of the job, i was expecting a push seeder, or at the very least a hand held crank thrower.  I was speaking to my neighbor who came out to talk while this was going on. He told me he used to work for a landscaping company and for that price it should have been "hydro-seed."  I don't know about that, but he said it was much better and would have been much more uniform.
I made my concern known to the employee about the hand spreading.  He was polite and actually put more down to make up for some of the bare (less seeded) spots.  It appeared pretty even, for hand spread.  One thing of note.  After the grass didn't grow in evenly (even though I followed their watering instructions to the letter), i researched online.  I found that best practice would have been to rake all the top soil and seed.  there was no raking involved. The seed was just thrown on top of the dirt.  Myself and my fiancee went out and raked the bare areas (where grass wasn't growing in) and we are getting better results now.  There are a lot of weeds in the grass, which is now about a month old.  I don't know if this is to be expected or not.  This is my first experience with starting from dirt over an entire yard.
We noticed the guys were packing up.  It had been a long day for them.  The stones were heavy and apparently they had carted them out by wheelbarrow to a truck on the street.  We noticed that they hadn't touched the second stump.  They were not very happy about it when we brought this to their attention.  They unloaded the stump remover and got to work on it.  I don't know if it was frustration or lack of knowledge on using the rented equipment but he was pushing this thing full bore into the stump.  It didn't seem to be the way the machine was supposed to be used.  Worse yet, it created several divots in the front lawn (where this stump was).  They had to see them.  But they were just left bare.  Not even a seed thrown down (by hand).  I had left my garage open during this process.  unbeknownst to me, there were woodchips thrown from the machine all over the inside of my garage.  This is a nice, painted floor attached garage, not an old beater garage.  Not happy.
That was a minor sweep up and leaf blower mess that only took about 1/2 hour to clean, but it shouldn't have been necessary.  I would have gladly closed the door, had i known this was happening.
Worse than that, was a few days later when we found the trail of stones.  I was in the front yard mowing when I found a thick trail of stones going from the gate to the back yard, right down the center of my yard, to where the truck had been parked on the street.  Apparently stones had been falling off the wheelbarrows the entire way out.  They were just left there.  This mess is worse than in the back because these are actually in the grass, not just in dirt.  I still don't know what i am going to do with them.  Short of crawling around the yard picking them up by hand, i don't think there is much i CAN do.
The yard looks nice now (aside from the weeds) and we are no longer looking out the window and seeing a muddy mess in the back yard, but it seems that it could have gone a lot smoother.

From the very first call to the projects end, FMS was always polite, professional, hard working, hoinest crew. They even bring my garbage cans up after they mow each week.
