The installer came at the scheduled time and completed the installation in less than four hours. He tested everything and explained the new opener system. He hauled away the old door and cleaned up everything.
We were very pleased with the sales call, the product and the installation. It has been a year since the work was done and we have had no problems and no complaints about the job. We would definitely use Toledo Door and Window again.
We ordered 15 double hung, triple pane Provia replacement windows. They arrived from the factory within a few weeks from the date of order. Installers were very competent, pleasant, and left no mess. Our old windows were poor-quality builder-grade wood. These seem much more sturdy, secure, and energy-efficient.
That said, I've had to call Toledo Door and Window twice to ask for their assistance with the windows. The first time was shortly after installation. While I was cleaning them, I (apparently) tilted the pane in incorrrectly, which caused the window to come off the track. When I couldn't figure out how to push it back in place, I called TD and Window to ask for help. I expected "over the phone" guidance, but instead -- I received a visit from a service technician within the hour. He fixed the window and showed me the proper cleaning procedure.
More recently (2 weeks ago), I opened a window to let in some cool morning air, but when I went to lower it, I wasn't able to move it up or down. It was stuck. Again, I called and they came to my rescue. This time there was a screw sticking out that was causing the window to catch on it. Service tech fixed the problem in about 30 seconds. Thank you!
To be perfectly honest, the verdict on the windows is still out. We haven't been through a winter with them yet, so we are waiting to make any official pronouncements. After the "getting off the track" incident I encountered while first cleaning them, I am a bit reluctant to try again. I've actually been going outside to wash them (rather than risk tilting them in).....as I do not want to have to to place another 911 call asking for a service tech home visit. So.....let's just say they do not seem to be quite as "easy-care" as I had hoped. Admittedly though, I suppose the problem could be with me. Perhaps I am simply replacement window-challenged. :-)
HOWEVER -- I can say with confidence that the customer service Toledo Door and Window has provided is absolutely STELLAR. I hope I don't have to call and bother them with any more stuck window emergencies, but it's nice to know that if I do -- they will rescue me. Hats off to the entire staff at Toledo Door and Window for your professionalism, courtesy, and excellence!
Just as I offered above. I would not use them again and would not recommend them to anyone. It surprised me the way the owner acted due to the fact they have been in the Toledo area for some time.
"If I remember correctly (we do many service calls per day) this person received a VAL PAK Coupon a few days AFTER we performed service on her garage door. She wanted us to send a refund for the difference on the VAL PAK Coupon.(The amount of the difference was $20) The coupon specifically states that the coupon MUST BE PRESENTED AT THE TIME OF SERVICE, not a few days AFTER. I wrote her a letter and told her I would credit the difference off of her NEXT service call, I NEVER spoke with her directly, I sent her a personal letter explaining our position on these coupons. I am very sorry she is upset with our company however I will still honor the credit the next time she needs door service."
