SALGAU ROOFING

I had a great experience with Salgau Roofing! I received three estimates on my roof, and Salgau was the middle estimate. The largest estimate was $4,000 more than Salgau. And when they came out the man was very condescending and spoke down to me and my adult daughter, who was visiting from Texas (she's an RN). He admonished me and told me my roof should have been replaced 5 years ago. ---I already knew my roof was bad......THAT'S WHY HE WAS THERE! When he left, my daughter and I felt like scolded children, so I decided I did not want to give them my money. The lower estimate was $1,500 lower. I received the estimate 3 days later than they said I would. (Three days isn't unreasonable, but a quick message saying it would take longer would have been appreciated). The estimate wasn't an itemized proposal, but one paragraph with a price. When I asked questions it took awhile for them to respond, and I felt like they were hard to get a hold of. I looked up their address which was a bit deceiving, because their Suite # is actually a PO box number, and I felt if I needed to get a hold of them after the job was done that it may be difficult. I asked about a warranty and he said there was a one year warranty on labor. (Salgau has a 10 year warranty on labor, and a limited lifetime warranty from Owens Corning on the shingles) When Corey (from Salgau) came out he was kind and professional. He sent an itemized estimate that same day. Salgau's estimate was the only one that included pictures of my roof. I went back and forth asking questions and Corey always replied promptly. I apologized for asking some dumb questions, and he made sure to tell me none of my questions were dumb and to 'ask away' making sure I understood everything and was comfortable with the whole process. I had a full tear down and replacement, and I can't believe it was done in one day (very hard workers)! -Except the copper flashing on my chimney, which was done the next morning. That same day I received the receipt, the labor warranty, and the info for the Owens Corning warranty---which Corey also helped me with. When they were done they cleaned up. My yard, driveway, and walkway looked better than it did before they started! My neighbors have complimented my new roof. And, for the first time ever, I looked forward to the rain that was forecasted yesterday....my leaky roof no longer leaks! :) I am so happy with my new roof, and very comfortable with my decision to choose Salgau. I highly recommend Salgau Roofing. And thank you especially to Corey. He was part of the whole process from start to finish. 11/10/21, Salgaue roofing in toledo ohio installed a low slope mulehide fully adhered epdm roof on my building. From the beginning I was concerned that the substraight condition of the parapet walls wasn't right for the installation. Nicholai said it was fine and wouldn't leak. . 10/6/2022 became fully aware that the substrate condition wasn't correct and needed to be redone to see the full life of the product. The warranty specifically stated the product would be installed to manufacture specifications. I found documentation that the parapet wall didn't meet mulehide fully adhered epdm system specifications ... specifically 3.02 Substrate Conditions subsection (4.) Wood Plank (1" minimum) shall conform to Factory Mutual's requirements for Class 1 impregnated decks (insulation is required). There was no insulation installed under the parapet wall epdm and several gaps over 1" wide are present which also goes against mulehide installation specifications. The rubber is no longer fully adhered. He refuses to redo it according to manufacturer specifications saying there's no penetration in the rubber so there isn't a problem to fix. 3/23/22 leak from the exact spot I was concerned about and he refuses to take responsibility claiming that the parapet wall isn't part of the roof and that water traveled 10" past a 1" air gap between brick and wood sheathing AND past an empty 2x4 wall cavity to come down only on the inside where sheathing meets roof deck with no wetness in between. I have pictures of the leak, of the 1"air gap, of the rubber going over unsuitable substrate, and drip edge that did not keep water from flowing through the other failure points.

Salgau Roofing did and exceptional job. They have done 4 roofs for all done in time frame which was stated. I will continue to use Salgau Roofing for all my Roofing needs

We thought we might need a new roof, but Nicolai Salgau educated us about a silicone product with a 50-yr materials warranty that has been absolutely great. Before we proceeded, we researched this Gako product and learned that, while effective and high quality, it requires expert application. Salgau Roofing provided that. We have complete trust in their excellent work, meticulous application, and - critical, we think - superior knowledge of roofing materials and techniques. Before the silicone application, Salgau took pains to repair previous roofers' "repairs." Especially for slate, flat, or historic roofs, Salgau is first-rate. They have earned their excellent reputation.

As always great work. Showed up as scheduled and completed work as advised. Any debris removed after finished. I would not have anyone else work on my slate roof.

We needed a copper roof above a bay window replaced. Salgau Roofing was recommended by another roofing company that does not work with copper. During the estimate they took the time to explain where and why the current roof failed, the weak points of the original design, and how they would re-design it to prevent future problems. The work was meticulously and well done. The owner and crew were curious and happy to answer my questions. The clean up was immaculate, we are very happy with the new roof, and have received many compliments from neighbors.

Salgau is great to work with. I received a quote in a timely manner and once I had finished my financing paperwork, I was on the schedule the very next day. Their crew arrived early and stayed until about 7pm. The roof on my three-story home was complete in less than two full days!

Put request in on line for a quote and was able to get someone out the next day. Early the next week the work was done. As always work was done as promised. Tiles were replaced as outlined in quote. The owner of Salgua was at the job part of the time as well as stopped by that night when job was complete to make sure he as well as us were happy with work. We have used Salgau many times and have always been happy with work done.

They were very professional. The crew of guys that did the roof were very nice and did a great job cleaning up. The owner is very professional and even comes out to the job site to make sure the clean up is done properly and checks the job site before he gets paid. I would recommend this company.

Salgau Roofing always does such a good job. Nicoli always knows what the problem is and fixes it. I have hired this company three times. Each time I couldn't find someone to do the work or couldn't get people to fix it right. Salgau has been my savior. I can't say enough about this co. or it's work. By the way, I discovered Salgau Roofing while I was attending a class at UT. I parked on the side of the road in the neighborhood and walked in to class. Every day I noticed Salgau working on the roofs in the neighborhood. The roofs were steep and I was impressed. But what I saw was this company moving from one house to the next. I realized the neighbors must have been recommending this roofing co. I wrote down their number and name and finally have found a co. that can really fix what I need fixing. I feel his pricing is fair too.

Salgau Roofing exceeded all our expectations. Mr. Salgau (Nicolas) has experience and knowledge of all types of roofing, perhaps more so than anyone else in Toledo. Salgau has knowledgeable and experienced crews, and the equipment to get the job completed quickly. His workers thoroughly cleaned up the entire area at the end of each day. The craftsmen working on the copper flashings took pride in their work, and their attention to detail was exceptional. Mr. Salgau makes sure no details are forgotten, and was always available to answer our questions. Getting a new roof is a big job, and very hard and hot work. This project could not have went better. Salgau Roofing are the true experts when it comes to slate and tile roofing. Most other contractors that come out say you need to replace the entire roof. They are wrong concrete tile can last 150 years if properly maintained. Salgau knows how to do that maintenance. They are also great and standard shingle roofs as well. Professional prompt and very friendly.

Excellent. Expected arrival time was 7am. They arrived at 6:59am and stayed until the job was completed. I am amazed they completed the job in 1 day. Other estimates were for several days. I hate mess, so 1 day was excellent. Complete tear off, Shingled and 100% cleaned up for a 1650 sq ft house with 2 car attached garage. It looks so beautiful! They were the only company to add additional vents to properly vent the attic on the estimate. all the others just figured what was there and didnt take the time to do the math. We already notice a big difference in the house temperature. They also flashed the chimney with copper! So pretty. Very professional! Skilled craftsmen for sure. Cant say enough, highly recomend! Not a speck of debris anywhere, and I mean anywhere including the bushes.
