They are a good veterinary practice medically, and the support staff are great. However, they have a relatively new vet who has a truly terrible personality. If my boss talked to me the way she talks to the staff I would be updating my resume ASAP. She also has an almost completely myopic tunnel vision about veterinary issues. For instance, she chastised my wife in a very unprofessional way for not brushing our dog's teeth twice a day, even though her teeth are fine and were not the reason for the visit. We have full time jobs and two kids, and that seems both obsessive and unreasonable to me. If you cannot understand that while I love my dogs very much they are not my children I simply cannot relate to you. We now leave our vet visits feeling like terrible dog owners (even though they are very healthy and were rescues) and very embarrassed for her due to her treatment of the staff. This used to be a great office, now we are looking for a new vet.

Met with doctor Grothaus for initial consultation regarding our dog's ACL injury. He took great care in the evaluation provided a detailed explanation of the recommended procedure. We took our time to make our decision to proceed. The operation was scheduled and completed. Dr. Grothaus worked closely with our home vet coordinating the post surgery care. Our lab is now fully recovered and pain free. We highly recommend Dr. Grothaus. He truly loves his patients and takes the time to listen to the owners concerns and answer all of our questions.

My cat Cali has some health problems that could interfere with her sight. The vet checked her eyes and took her blood pressure. All in fine working order as is her pulse. Also had a prescription filled while there.

I have been given great service. My last visit was for a Doxie that could not stand up and I feared the worse. After her xrays and medications and injections, the next day she was standing again. I wont shout just yet, but the improvement is such a blessing.
My furbaby is very special( as they are to most of us) but her previous abuse from her former owner just made her more special, and Dr Sue and her staff have always been there to help.

The example I would talk about was the quest for relief for our dog's allergies. Colby was losing his hair, belly skin was turning black and he was scratching himself crazy. The doc tried several medications including steroids which helped tremendously but could not be used long term according to the vet. Another, milder med was found and has worked for over a year with no side-effects (except the high med cost!)

They are excellent. They are very dedicated pet owning vets. It's a father and son and two others. They've been around a long time. They've handled newsworthy cases that the paper has picked up of mistreated animals that were shot or starved or something. Generally, their reputation is very high in this area. They've been very good to us over the years, these are not the first pets we've taken to them.

They always carefully reviewed dogs' history, offered ways to cut costs safely, always called me at home or the office to talk at length about dogs' conditions. Very sympathetic with concerns.

Finally diagnosed the problem, ear polyps, but did not recommend the proper remedy. They did surgery there and the polyps came back, which is the case 75% of the time when their limited surgery is performed. They never told us a more thorough surgery was available, and more appropriate for her condition. We essentially paid for months of antibiotics, other meds and a $400 surgery for nothing.

They have cat specialists and dog specialists; everyone that we have seen has been very, very good. They give us a discount because we have so many pets. They are very compassionate, people friendly, pet care. We've had to have a couple of pets put to sleep and they have made the experience as easy as they possibly can. We will continue to take our animals here for future care.
