I've used King Electric many times over the years and I'm always impressed by their work ethic, knowledge, professionalism, promptness, and courtesy. This job was no exception. King replaced two overhead fluorescent strip light fixtures. Ran a new 20 amp circuit through conduit in my basement. They replaced several faulty light switches and duplex electrical outlets, in my home. They even had a circuit breaker for my out-of-date electrical circuit breaker box.
Went through complete living room replacing and rewiring ceiling fan, outlets, and switches.
In April 2012, my husband and I were verbally quoted $2,000.00 (two-thousand dollars) and told I'd receive a written quote via e-mai that evening. The quote included updating the elctrical system that already had an updated electrical box, in an entire one-bedroom, tiny seven hundred and thirty-two square foot bungelow home and would be completely done by the by the end of the week.
- We still cannot plug in three-prong plugs into our livingroom, as the two prong plugs were never swtched out.
- We cannot turn on our microwave without turning on a wall light first.
- There was never an on/off switch installed to operate the garbage disposal. We have to plug and unplug the garbage disposal under the sink in order to operate it.
- We ne ver did receive an e-mail with the verbal quote in writing. Months later we receive a bill for over five thousand dollars! The job was supposed to have been done orignally no later than July fourth, 2012. As of Jaunary 4, 2013, it is still not completed. I paid the two-thousand eighty-five dollars to honor my word in our verbal agreement along with an additional eighty-five dollars to cover eighty-five dollar quote to install the garbage disposal by the installer. The installer connected the elctric to the garbage disposal, but never included a switch to operate the garbage disposal. I paid the eigthy-five dollars extra to cover the garbage disposal connection, because it was not included in the original two-thousand dollar quote. I was surprised that no on/off switch was included.
It is my understanding that the project manager who originally quoted our job, has been let go from the company.
Even though the one owner I talked with on the phone twice said he would come to complete the work twice, he never did. Unfortunatley not all of the work was completed properly and some how we we're accidently wayyyyyyy over billed by over three-thousand doallrs. Thank goodness one of the owners knows I am a person of my word, and we had two other contractors ( a plumber and a master carpenter) working who both overheard our verbal agreement. I paid in full what I had said I would pay, even though the job was not completed.
Respectfully,
Dawn Hall from Toledo, Ohio
