A little expensive but completely worth it.  Both French doors look like they are original to the house.  Very detail oriented.  Very, very satistified.

We bought the doors from Glass City Doors and Windows. They recommended a contractor to install. When used that contractor, who came out to look at the project and quote the installation. The doors were delivered in about 2 weeks. They were installed about 5 days later. Around 3 hours to remove old doors and install the 2 new doors. 3 men did the job.

We got off to a rocky start. We did not realize that Cruetz' price included the windows. We thought it was in addition to Glass City's window quote. We were going to forget it. Fortunately, Tim Smith with Glass City followed up with us and explained the pricing. The price was reasonable for replacing two large double hung windows with a big picture window and a smaller double hung window with a casement window. They told us how long it would take to get the windows and the timing was exactly what they said. We ordered on May 1 and the installation was May 30.
They had to resize the opening so there were some challenges that they were aware of beforehand. It took them about 7 hours and did a marvelous job. It wasn't like on HGTV where the demolition is with sledge hammers. They carefully removed each piece of molding with a little crowbar. There was no broken glass or mess. One guy kept vacuuming and sweeping. They put plastic up to protect the interior of the house but it was probably not even needed because they were so neat.
The four workers were polite and very skilled. It was such fun to watch them work. The end result is beautiful.
Other places require a deposit but Mike Cruetz did not. Tim Smith of Glass City was very patient with us while we made up our minds on the style of windows. Marvin has a very nice website that shows their product and the windows are excellent quality. We highly recommend Glass City Window and Door, Mike Cruetz Construction and Marvin windows.

Pete Kane replied to my request for an estimate. He was punctual and was able to give me an idea of what it was going to cost right away. A few days later, he sent me an email with the exact estimate. I hired him and although it took a while to get the work done do to weather and excavating personel I would hire him again. There was no surprise on the final bill and his work was perfect. He kept me and my renters informed throughout the whole process. I am having him replace a door and window trim in the future.

It went very well. We had no disagreements, and he did additional work on some of our original windows (such as new weather stripping and replacing moldings). He had also discussed other options with us without trying to talk us into additional windows.
He emailed me with updates regarding the windows arrival and misc. comments.
