Mr. Hofer dealt with my wife for the majority of this transaction, and we chose his company to do the work primarily because he made her feel at ease. We had received several other bids, and all were similar - just felt more comfortable having Hofer Residential do the work. The roofers showed up when they said they would, the crew worked hard and got the job done in 2 days, despite the supplier initially sending the wrong skylights. The yard was cleaner than I expected afterwards, and I didn't find any problems with the quality of their work. The only problem I had was related to the gutter installation, which I am sure was subcontracted, and I don't know to whom. I was on the roof later to take care of a window project, and I noticed that the gutter installers cut the roof drip edge to install their gutter hangers. I'm not sure if affects anything negatively, and I can't see how it could make the roof leak, but it just doesn't look right. It's a shame to pay for new drip edge just to have the gutter installers cut it to pieces. It's one of those things that no one will notice unless they get on a ladder above the gutters, but it sure sticks out and appears to be poor workmanship if you do look at it. Overall, I'm very pleased, probably won't complain to Hofer about the gutter work, would recommend them to anyone. Caring and professional. I did get sticker shock, but I guess roofing is just expensive if you use a reputable company. Money well spent.
