Even though I was upset with her candor last year I tried to hire Kathy again to redecorate my dining room. Being in a wheelchair I cannot get out and about to look for myself and need the aid of a decorator. I told her I had $3000, $4000 max for drapes, wallpaper, chandelier and decorations and wanted lighter and liked the industrial style lighting. She returned with formal and dark, loved the look but wanted lighter and more casual, and she basically just changed the color of wallpaper. It was still dark and on the formal side plus?she figured a cost for me and just the wallpaper and curtains alone were at my max budget!! There wasn?t a chandelier, wall hanging, nothing else was included in the cost. She brought photos of linen covered lights, I didn?t want that look. I knew she would be upset if I again, shot down her design so I told her it was still too dark and used my husband for an excuse, boy was that a mistake. She went off on me big time, very rude. I sent her a text the next day saying I didn?t like the way our conversation went and that obviously we could not work together, she said she had come to the same decision. So, due to her candor, I will be looking for a new decorator. Oh! And last year she charged me $69 for a candlestick that was mine to begin with. So if you hire her, make sure she doesn?t charge you for your own decorations, lol. It was an oversight for me and I didn?t notice it until it was too late. Plus this is now a year later and Chuck, her husband and a contractor and who gave my husband his word, has still not fixed the moulding that was damaged by his inexperienced carpet installers. Once they received the final payment for their services we never heard from them again unless we initiated the call only to be told months later they felt we wouldn?t be happy because the flooring had been discontinued and couldn?t match it. I can only hope they do not treat all their clients as they have me.
