When the basement flooded, I hired a plumber to come and snake out the sewer line. With a snake camera, the plumber discovered that the sewer line was broken and had roots growing into it, and that the repair would require excavation. I then contacted each of the excavating companies listed on Angie's List, and requested a quotation for the excavation and repair to my sewer line. I got about 5 quotes ranging up to $6500 for the repair work, with 2B excavating returning the lowest at $1250.00. None of the quotes included a provision for restoring the grass to the yard. Additionally, they were available to start work within 3 days. They then obtained the proper digging permits, and started digging into the yard on the agreed date. The problem was quickly found exactly where the plumber said it would be, and a section of sewer pipe was replaced without difficulty. When the repair was complete, a city inspector came by to approve it before the hole was filled in. The whole process was done in about 5 hours.
Description of Work: I had a sewer pipe broken and clogged with roots, which needed to be repaired about 6-7 feet below ground level.
