Had to contact the better business bureau to even get a reply from them! My wife and I built our home. J&J did the plumbing for the house. We moved in March of 2021. We were noticing an odor of gas from our upstairs furnace. We called the gas company who said the found a leak and its from where the attachment was made to the furnace. They stated that this was just a poor fitting and was not put together correctly. The guy said this issue doesn't just happen that quickly in a home. He said it was barely noticeable because it was contained in an upstairs closet we never open since its just the furnace inside there and was just below explosion levels. They shut off our gas to that area. We contacted our builder who said it needs to be handled through the plumbing company since they should warranty it since its their work. I call J&J who sent someone out. The guy from J&J agreed that it was not put together well and that is what caused the leak. It was too new to have the type of leak it did and was right at a connection point. Especially since its in an area that no one can get to and mess with. I have called a few time as well as text messages to have a manager call me because I do not feel I should pay for this being multiple people including their own employee said its not something that just happens that quickly after being installed. I was charged almost 900 dollars and there is also a bunch of blue stuff in multiple spots now in my carpet I am unable to get out. Again my issue is the cost for what was not done right in the first place and also that I have attempted to talk to a manager or someone about this issue however I have not received a call back or any communication from them and its been well over a month now.

This would not have been passed if there was a gas leak. The inspection was done by us and the gas company. 2. Sadly your warranty was a one year warranty and now 3 years after you've moved in; it is not covered. 3. The Technician gave all pricing upfront and in writing before starting the work and both parties agreed and signed. It wasn't until a week later that you called to complain about price. 4. Our manager called , left a voicemail , and texted only to find that you don't want to talk to us and asked us not to call. You texted our manager that "this is no longer a money issue". We want to respect what you asked. I'm very sorry about your experience [Member Name Removed].

Greg and Jason were friendly and efficient when fixing the problem. Greg informed me BEFORE the actual work started what was going to be done and approximately how much it would cost. Definitely the right people for the job.

We absolutely loved the service. Greg came out and was able to snake a slab tub drain that three other plumbing companies had told us prior couldn’t be done. Would 100% give these guys a cal again! Great service!

J&J was a total LIFE SAVER for us. I’m embarrassed of how many service call fees we paid before we finally got Nathan on the phone. He came out and instantly not only was finally able to figure out our issue, but offered to do it right then and there. Don’t be like us and waste money on service fees, call J&J to get it right the FIRST time!

The two guys showed up unprepared and with out copper pipe! The spent 1.5 hours just dicking around. The job took about 15 minutes if you took your time. The had to drive out somewhere because they did not have their tools or supply's. Then they made the job seem like it was going to be really difficult and challenging. They clearly thought I was an idiot. The best part was that they left tools here along with a mess for me to clean up.

HOt water tank was not keeping water warm. Service guy stated all we needed to was turn up the thermostat. WRONG. I needed to have the water tank flushed. Charged 125.00 . I had to call someone else to finish the job.

Scott arrived on time, was courteous and professional. Immediately upon seeing my water heater, he informed me that it was not up to code and that a thermal expansion tank would have to be installed on the water heater. Also missing was a gas line drip leg. Some of the copper pipe had to be replaced because it was 1/2" and should have been 3/4". (My house is 90 years old, so things are rarely as they should be). Scott took the time to explain what he needed to do, then went to work on draining the old tank, removing it, and installing the new one. When he finished, he cleaned up the area and showed me how to light the pilot if it should ever go out.. I am very satisfied with the work, and would hire this company again. My only criticism would be that when I called the company to get a price, I informed them that my current water heater was 14 years old. I was given a quote of $700. The possibility of needing a thermal expansion tank at an additional cost of $110, was never mentioned. After talking with Scott, I believe that was an oversight, but wanted to bring it to your attention.

I called J and J after my regular plumber was unable to come out for 3 days. They answered promptly and came out within 3 hours. The employee was very professional, and fixed the leak quickly for only a service call charge. I would definitely use them again.

It was an extremely messy job in a crawl space, workers were very professional and friendly. They offered several suggestions to save me cost and they were very willing to go the extra mile.

I thought they were very honest. The man told me the water heater in about two years will be absolute but it is working fine. They cleaned up well and even cleaned up things that was not their mess. I was very pleased with the service.

They re-piped a hot water tank that was in my rental home. I guess the people who had it before jerry-rigged it. When the gas company came they said they could not light it because it was not up to code. I called them and they came out the next day. They showed me exactly what needed to be done. They put a new pipe on the water heater and a new exhaust vent. They got everything up to code in about three hours.

I called to get a quote for preventative maintenance on cutting tree roots from our sewer line. This is something we have done every other year. I was told on the phone that they couldn't give me a quote over the phone, it depended on how long my sewer line was and they needed to see the job before they could quote me. So I scheduled them to come out that same day for a quote. A plumber and his young helper showed up and quoted $199 which I though was really high. We have had it done in the past for around $100. I told them this and was not going to hire them to do the work. I was then told I owed $50 for a and quot;quote feeand quot;. What a racket! I was NOT told that on the phone, or I would never had them come to my house. I called the owner, Jerry, while the plumbers were still there. He said that I owed the quote fee, but would lower the price to $140 for the job if we hired them. Being naand iuml;ve, I hired them anyway, I figured they were already there anyway. The entire job took less than 20 minutes from start to finish. I was not able to look on during the job because I had a small child to watch, but I could see them through the basement windows. The younger helper was looking around my basement and even touching my things. I couldn't wait for them to leave. I felt taken advantage the entire time, and felt scammed into hiring them through this ridiculous quote fee. Bad experience, I will never hire this company again.

I purchased J&J Plumbing in July 2012 and was not involved at all with the company until the acquisition. The previous owner, Jerry, as you reference in your review is not associated with the new company - and either is the approach to operating the company. I can assure you that the J&J Plumbing & Drain in it's current operation does business in a different fashion and is "customer service friendly". I'm not saying we are perfect but our approach to each and every customer is to win a customer for life - and the word of mouth advertising that goes with it. I would respectfully request to give us another try when the need arises - I can assure you that the outcome will be different. My experience was terrible. First I called to get a quote. This is a pretty standard plumbing job. I was told on the phone they couldn't give me an estimate until they saw how long my sewer line was to the road. So I scheduled them that day to come out and give me a quote. Two men showed up. The estimate I was given was $199, which I thought was really high. We have paid much less in the past. I told them that and did not plan to hire them. Then I was told I owed a $50 quote fee! I was NOT told that on the phone. I called the owner, Jerry, and explained the situation. He came down in price and said they would charge $140 for the whole job. Reluctantly I agreed (my mistake!). The plumbers were finished with the entire job in less than 20 minutes. I saw the younger man who was helping out looking around my basement and even touching things. I couldn't wait for them to leave. I will never hire this company again. I felt taken advantage of the entire time, from the phone call to the actual work done.

They were able to schedule the call in a timely manner. The work was done very well and quickly. While they were at my house they looked at a faucet contol on our bath tube that was leaking. They determined that faucet couildn't be repaired and they offered to order a new one if we could give them the manufacturer make and model. I was impressed by their professional service and would recommend them to anyone in need of home plumbing work.r

My Maytag washer had sprung a leak. I called J & J and they made an appt for the very next day. My husband decided we should just buy a new washer, and when I called to cancel the appt, the provider persuaded me to let him at least look at it. I relented and when he showed up, on time and professional in attitude he took only a matter of 15 minutes to explain to me that I had merely a slight problem with the washer and fixed it in no time. He also checked out my refrigerator right next the dishwasher to make sure that was not some of the problem, and pronounced it healthy. I would definitely call J & J again.

I had an early morning hours sump pump emergency. The crock was full, the main appeared to be working but not moving water out. The hydraulic back-up clearly was not working. I sensed the main pump wasn't bad, just that something was causing the water not to move efficiently. (It was raining so I had to act fast.) Jand J was reasonably responsive, considering the call was at 6 am. The technician came in, said he didn't know how to operate hydraulic backup systems, and diagnosed the problem as a bad primary sump pump. He replaced it for $490. He tried to take the old sump with him, but I kept it because it was still under warranty. The next day, the plumber who installed everything in the first place came by to look at the hydraulic system. It was obvious - once the water in the crock went down - that there was a gaping hole in the back-up pump and that water was recycling out of it back into the crock even when I was just using the main sump. He tested the and quot;oldand quot; main pump and it worked just fine. He said it could have had a rock stuck in it - but it definitely didn't need to be replaced. So I now have the old pump on a shelf. I guess if I need another sump pump in case of an emergency, I have one. But I'd rather not have paid $490. Jand J was responsive and professional. But the technician wasn't listening to me and chose the simplest option for him - replace the main. He didn't fix the core problem and cost me unnecessary money.

Instead of asking the company's service manager for assistance, as he's instructed to do, the technician made the decision for replacement. The company takes this matter very seriously and has taken steps (training, etc.) to insure this doesn't happen in the future. As President of J&J Plumbing I make customer service our number one priority and in this case it looks like we failed. My apologies and I can assure this customer and future customers we will handle all service calls with better care than this one particular case.

I have had two plumbing outfits come out and tell me after the job was done that it should have only cost me about $300.

J & J Plumbing dispute 1/6 called about a small leak in pipe from first floor. 1/7 employee (Dave) arrived, checked pipe, roof, water drainage COULD NOT FIND LEAK charged $100 for call- (and $75 for a faucet repair) 1/23 called - leak showing up again told there will be no service charge because problem not found on first call Matt shows up , finds leak says repair will take one complete day and will cost $1600 agree to estimate, schedule repair for 1/25 1/24 disturbed by high cost and call call Capital Plumbing - get $500 estimate for parts and 1/2 day's work 1/25 call J & J cancel repair J & J questions whether Capital plumber is licensed state that they have already purchased parts and paid $45 for a permit and that I owed for the second service call because I canceled repair , also state that I had signed an estimate for the repair and they had a copy that an inspector will show up once the job was finished because a permit had been pulled that if my plumber is not licensed, the inspector will immediately shut off the water at the street AND the work would have to be redone by a licensed plumber insist that I pay for the second service call and the permit, but I not the parts AND that an employee would show up shortly with the bill Matt shows up around 3:00 with a bill for $89.95 for the second service call, but said that they would waive the permit fee and the cost of the parts. The bill already had my Discover card number on the bill. He had no copy of any signed estimate. Repeated the accusation that my plumber probably wasn't licensed, and warned about the water possibly being shut off. I was alone at the house, and the company knew that I needed a repair done because I was selling the house very soon, and was moving within days, that a house inspector had identified the leak., and that I wanted to do the honest thing and get the repair done. I felt intimated and rushed to pay the bill, even though I repeated his comment about not charging for the second service call. He insisted that he was owed for the service call, and that I had already been given a discount on the faucet repair, and that he wasn't charging for the permit for which he had already paid. So I signed the bill. I feel that I was rushed to comply with their charges, was intimidated, and lied to about the water shut off. I found out later that no permit had been pulled for this repair by J & J Plumbing

On 1/6 a requested evaluation of drip on a pipe from upstairs was made. No cause of the drip was identified. On 1/23 drip reported again. Problem evaluated; estimate given for full day's work and repair would be $ 1600. I agreed (orally- nothing signed) to the bid. I was in the process of selling my house and needed someone to repair the problem quickly.

The plumber was on time and professional. He resolved the problem with a temporary solutions. It will cost more money for a permanent fix. The house call was $85.00 alone, which is expensive.

I contacted J&J on a Saturday. They promptly called me back and stated they would be out at 10am Monday morning. I got a call Monday morning at 10am stating they needed to schedule a time with me. I informed them they already set the time up for 10am and that I needed to go to work at 11:30am. I was then told they'd be there at 10:45am. At 10:50am they weren't there yet so I called again and was told they'd be there at 11:30am, at which time I canceled my appointment.
