ISOM'S CLOCK REPAIR

Mr. Isom is a true professional who clearly loves and respects clocks. He made arrangements to pick up the clock, he quickly assessed its needs, and said when it would be ready. He kept his word, delivered the clock back to its home, re-hung it, and left it running better than it has in years. The chimes were also brighter and more resonant than ever. The price was very reasonable for all that was involved - around $130. The clock should be good for another fifteen years or so.

I saw Mike Isom's business truck in my neighbor's driveway. Of course, I checked his history on Angie's list! :) I called my neighbor and asked if Mr. Isom could stop across the street and look at our clock. He was just finishing up and was at the door in 15 minutes. He knew the clock's movement brand and details, looked it over quickly, gave an estimate for disassembly, cleaning, etc, (which sounded reasonable), and took the clock with him with a promise of delivering the following week. He kept in touch re: progress by phone. It turned out that the clock was in more serious condition than he originally thought, but gave me the options for either continuing in the original clean/repair mode (without warranty) for the price quoted, or replacing the entire movement (with a lifetime warranty). I opted to go the original route. The clock was done early, he called, brought the clock back and installed it before the week was out. The whole process was efficient, well-communicated, reasonably-priced, and professionally done. Mr. Isom is well-credentialled. Be sure to ask him what other work he has done in the community. I don't remember all the details, but I was impressed by his list of past work. It's such a pleasure to have our clock back! It has not run so smoothly since it was new. The movement sounds relaxed, even, and the chimes and time are running perfectly! Mr. Isom showed me the best way to wind it, start it and reset it. He's very knowledgeable. Overall, this was an excellent experience!

Mr. Isom arrived a few minutes before the scheduled time, got right to work with professionalism and an obvious knowledge of the clock mechanism. He finished in about 45 minutes. He did not try to upsell or add costs, and I am confident that the clock will be fine for another 3 years or so, at which time I'll call him back. He will be my first choice for clock repair.
