AL BLYTH CONSTRUCTION

It went great!! We had talked many times of re-doing the kitchen, but budget constraints always kept us from doing it. With our last child graduating from high school, it was time to make it happen. So our first question to Al was, "can it be done by the time we need to get ready for the graduation party?" He agreed it could and we got right to work. He had good trusted places to go look at counters and tile and, was available for questions anytime. We had new lighting installed (which required ceiling patching and new spackling), new cabinet doors made and installed over our existing cabinets, a few extra cabinets made, an island made, granite counter tops, new sink and a tile backsplash installed. It all looks beautiful!!! So much so that people who have known us for years come to the house and say, " Did you change something in here?" ...it looks like it's always been this way! Al was very easy to work with, timely and responsive to any question or concern we had. Would highly recommend him for this (or any other) tyoe of work without hesitation!!!

Great! Al came out to take a look, showed me options from a catalog and helped narrow down our choices. Once we made our selection, he ordered it and called when the door was ready to install. Install took a little more than a day. Al is very easy going and good at bringing up points to consider that you may not have thought of. He and his crew are always great to work with, do quality work and always clean up after!

They were incredibly responsive to our specific needs and we now have a unique and beautiful kitchen. Al had Steve Long install a beautiful slate tile floor and a travertine backsplash that is flawless. Because we had water damage from our dishwasher, I insisted on installing tile under the cabinets and they worked with us to get this done. The rustic hickory cabinets were of extraordinary craftmanship (supplied by Compton Cabinets) and perfectly installed. We had new overhead track lighting, under cabinet lighting, and over cabinet lighting installed, all of which was tricky because we live in a log cabin. The lights look great and transformed the kitchen. What we appreciated most was that Al was willing to work with us to get some of the unique features we wanted, including the copper counter tops and granite window sills. He even brought over granite samples to save us time running around to find the right granite. Our only complaint is that it took longer than anticipated to finish the job, but this is balanced by the some of our unusual requests. His guys (Ron and Andy) who did the installation were very professional and amicable, and were great with our dogs. It was a pleasure to have such nice guys working in the house. We had numerous problems in dealing with our insurance company and Al handled most of this, which was a great help. Overall, this was a very positive experience and we are thrilled with our new kitchen.

The job went very well we are happy. They did clean up before they left and swept the whole downstairs. They cleaned up all their stuff. I am happy with the work.

The workers would arrive on time, but the rest of my experience with them was pretty bad. I think their workmanship was poor, and I had to babysit them throughout the project to ensure that things were done properly.

I had Al come to take a look for an estimate. He came out when he said. He got here early. Very professional. He took out the cement wall and placed the steel beam in the ceiling. His guys worked through the day and got everything done in one day. They cleaned up the mess. Very nice people. They did the job for a very reasonable price.

Al and his workers were great, friendly, on time and quick to finish a great job. Even covered the opening in the garage with a tarp so rain and leaves would not blow into the garage.

He is very professional, responsive and wonderful. His price was almost half of the other contractor. He did a very good job. I would grade him high on all the categories.

Mr. Blyth's employee's were there on time and had most of the work done in one day. Very nice, friendly people, and did come back and finished the staining of the frame another day because I didn't have the stain at the time. Also covered the garage for me to keep the rain and leaves out until garage door could be put on. Good contact with Mr. Blyth either by e mail of phone. Always returned your calls as soon as possible.
