Superb workmanship! Our forty year old Scandinavian chairs were in dire need of seat recovering and new batting. John and Cindy picked them up, selected and bought the perfect fabric, and got them back to us in good time. Not requested (or noticed!) by me, he also glued a separation I had not noticed

Everything turned out beautifully. We started with the recaning job, and we were so pleased with the results, we decided to go forward with the other 2 projects. I am so appreciative of the quality of work that was done. they repaired an antique table that I thought was a lost cause, took apart and completely re-glued all 6 chairs, and fixed the door to a china cabinet that's been broken for years. Additionally, John and Cindy were prompt picking up and delivering our furniture, reasonably priced, and were very personable and accommodating. I wish I would have used their services years ago, and would certainly use them again without hesitation.

Work was done in a timely manner. Installed a support panel under the broken seat rather than actually replacing the seat. Not exactly what we were expecting, but it will suffice. However, the price charged for work done did seem a bit high. Even so, we would probably turn to them again if we had another chair problem.

"I'm confused. On 02-13-18 a very nice lady brought the chair to our shop. On 02-15-18 the chair was picked up. The original seat was made of particle board and was broken. I explained that we would install 1/2" plywood rather than particle board (better quality and won't come apart) to repair the broken seat and I informed her of the price....so we actually did install a new seat. We never perform a job without explaining what we will be doing. I cannot mention the person's name on this review response according to the rules of Angie's List but I can assure you that all work performed and the price was approved by the person that brought it in. She was given a written receipt with the price of $45.00 and exactly what we will be doing before she left. If the price seemed to high it would have been appropriate to tell us at that time rather than leaving the chair, receiving the exact services promised and then giving a negative rating on our professionalism and price. We strive to retain our clients and are sorry that you were not totally satisfied."

I called the Chair Repair Shop and was told they could have someone out to my house the next day to take a look at the problem (with no extra charge for the house call). It turned out to be a quick and simple fix -- for them! -- and they only charged me $35.

When I contacted John and Cindy, they quoted a price over the telephone and informed me that they are in our neighborhood (Shaker Heights) every Wednesday. They came in a van, picked up the chairs, and promised to return them in 2 weeks. I received a call in less than two weeks, informing me that they would deliver the repaired items on the next Wednesday, EXACTLY when promised. The work was excellent. John reglued the chair joints and painted the cane black to match. The chairs look like new. I have already recommended them to family and friends. In summary: The Chair Repair Shop is an absolute pleasure to do business with.
