The installation took 11 days since there were so many rooms to cover. Brian and Josh are a great team and they were a pleasure to have working at our house. The floors look beautiful and the trim is perfect. They hauled away all the old flooring and cleaned up as they worked and when the job was finished.

.Josh and his crew arrived as scheduled. They worked hard to bring the floor back to its original oak look. They put several swatches of stain on the floor so that we could decide which way to go. We decided to leave the floor natural. They put a water-based polyurethane sealer on the floor, buffed it and put a final coat on. They ket the place very clean, used sanders with vacuum attached and used sealer that had very little odor.
We were very happy with the job and are waiting for a quote to do our bedroom

"I'm not even sure who this is and what the issue is? You can always contact me to discuss why I was given an F rating?"

This installation was on slab and not sure if Josh was in over his head. I've since seen other complaints for him for the same issue and he attributes the problem to moisture. I had the floor inspected (certified inspector) and have since had the issue (buckling) repaired by another flooring company (Classic). When the floor section was removed there was NO evidence of moisture. There was however a lack of glue on several areas of the flooring. Additionally it appeared he did not use the proper trowel, not deep enough grooves which is necessary to have proper glue coverage especially if the slab is not perfectly even. Essentially this was an installation issue. There were multiple areas where there was no glue contact. The other repaired areas were not removed but drilled and injected as those areas did not have buckling issues.
More troubling was his complete lack of professionalism as he did not live up to the 1 year warranty (issues started just a couple of months after install). He did come back once to make a half hearted attempt to fix but not the way he should have. He assured me he would come back to address the issue but he never would answer my calls or email. I was very fair about it and gave him the benefit of the doubt until he totally blew me off. I then had to go to small claims court and we settled in remediation but for less than the amount it cost me to repair. He also did not install a transition from the wood to carpet as he agreed to do. Seemed like a nice guy and we were initially happy with the work and look of the floors. Too bad it turned to such a negative situation.
Classic Floor did a very nice job on the repair.

"Let me start by saying that we've been in business since 2007 and as you can see from our other reviews the work we do is 2nd to none! With that being said i would be lying if i told you every job goes as planned and we never run into issues... We take pride in our work and when issues do arise we address them and do whatever we can to remedy a situation. Living in Ohio we have moisture fluctuations that can negatively affect hardwood floors - this is what was happening at this customers house. We installed and finished over 1500 sqft of engineered hardwood flooring and there was one small hallway of around 10 sqft that was giving us issues when the Relative Humidity and moisture was high. We came out and addressed the issue and remedied the situation. I few weeks later it started to happen again with a couple boards next to what we fixed and i came back to see what was happening - we took moisture readings that came back extremely high and told the customer he would need to lower the Relative humidity/moisture in his house to help keep the floor stable. Fast forward to the fall and winter time - the area in question remedied itself due to the moisture drying out and the opposite started happen where the floor was beginning gap. Again I came out to address this customers concern and informed him that gaping in the winter in Ohio was a common occurrence with wood flooring especially wide 5” planks. There is nothing we can do if a floor dries out and I informed him that he would have to wait until spring to see if the floor swelled back to the normal widths and we can fill any leftover gaps. One week later this customer called me to tell me he wants the gaps filled now and that was my last straw. I’m willing to work with any reasonable customer about concerns but It got to a point with this customer that we were going out there consistently to address his same concerns and he was calling me almost 2-3 times per month wanting us to come again and again. The customer then began threatening to take legal action based on no grounds other than his dissatisfaction. We ended up going to a court mediator and agreed upon a settlement we both thought was fair. He had no inspection done on the floor and only brought one quote from another company that included everything from flooring to wall painting that was outrageously priced. It’s unfortunate that we run into customers like this and cannot work through things amicably. There are always two sides to every story and although I can only rebuttal this complaint I felt that it needed to be addressed from our side and as you can see the rest of our reviews are all A’s and all we can do is continue to do top quality work and learn from this situation!"

We purchased flooring through lumber liquidators and Flooranthropy did the installation. The owner came to do the measuring. He was prompt, polite and answered all of our installation questions. He provided a comprehensive quote with all the extras itemized, materials, transition pieces, molding, furniture moving and tear up of old flooring. His crew arrived promptly on the date of installation. There were 3 workers to move the furniture and tear up the old flooring and then 2 workers, Brian and Josh, who stayed to do the rest of the installation. Brian and Josh were terrific. They worked so hard and were pleasant and polite. We had a large amount of flooring installed and were probably not really prepared for what a wreck the house would be for the week, but Josh and Brian cleaned up all of it. They cut the flooring int he garage and cleaned up all the sawdust. We were very pleased with their work. The only issue we had was that the one additional guy who had been at our house at the beginning of the week helped himself to a bag of candy that was sitting on the kitchen counter and ate the whole thing. While it seems like a minor thing, we called the owner to let him know about it and did not receive a call back. We opted to let him know of the issue by e-mail, but a return call would have been nice. Other than that one ting, we were very pleased with Brian and Josh and all their hard work and would recommend Flooranthropy.

Great job! Very happy with the fact that we met with the owner of the business. He was experienced and allowed us to be confident in the work that was to be completed. Work was done on time and at the price quoted. No surprises!!

We chose josh and company based on his responsiveness to our inquiries, the reasonable quote and the expertise that he exhibited when he visited our house prior to the installation. Even though hurricane sandy was bearing down on Ohio, Josh and his team showed up on time and work diligently to get our floor installed in a reasonable time. It did take about an half day longer than originally estimated, however this was not an issue for us. The only concern for us was how the boards fit together in an area where they had to be glued instead of stapled. When we asked about it, the crew indicated it kept floor straight and that it would not move after it was glued. So far so good, so no worries yet. We did appreciate their professional manner and dedication to the job and making us happy with the fine details.

Josh and his crew were true professionals. They did a great job installing the hardwood floors. We had a foyer and a dining room done with a handscraped hickory that really looks awesome. The work took about two days with the first day being mostly demolition. They were able to get the job done quickly and within the estimate. They also did a nice job cleaning up the garage and rooms they were working in. Josh also returned emails and phone calls quickly. I would recommend them highly.

Josh (Flooranthropy's owner) was very helpful with taking measurements, figuring out trim and detail pieces and writing out the order for us to place it through Lumber Liquidators. We phoned in the order and had Flooranthropy deliver it to our house a few weeks before installation (wood has to acclimate for awhile before install). He and 2 employees that have been with the company for some time were able to install 710 sq. ft. of flooring, trim pieces and the fireplace tile in 3 days. They did the basic flooring install for $2.95 a sq. ft. when most companies I called wanted at least $4 (plus additional for trim). The installation looks great, with tight seams and carefully fitted pieces (in a 115 yr. old house no less). Real wood floors require about 5-10% additional material for natural/ mill/ finish defects and they were able to complete the job with less than 5% wasted. Josh and his guys were a pleasure to work with, very professional and trustworthy. After seeing the work in action I was very happy we hired them - we probably could have tackled it ourselves, but it is very physical work and takes skill to lay out the pieces and pull off the detailing. The day that they finished we were able to do a final vacuuming (little dusty, but nothing compared to sanding an existing floor or doing drywall work) and start moving in furniture.

I had received 3 different estimates for this job and this company gave me the best price compared to the others. Initially, I was unsure of the quality of their work since they were a relatively new company. Josh and one other worker were able to start the job sooner than I had expected. They were on time everyday and on the most part cleaned up after themselves. The job was complete in 3 days, including new trim on the baseboard and casing on the doors. They also installed and stained a reducer between the laundry room and the next room at no extra cost. Their cuts on the trimwork were not the best I've seen, but knowing that they weren't carpenters, it turned out looking fine after the trim was caulked and painted. Josh offers a 5 year warranty on his labor. Overall, they did a great job and I'm really happy with the way the new tiled floor turned out.
