The garage is separate from our house. It was originally a 1-car garage, with an addition for a 2nd car several years later. The original roof is sloped to the back of the garage. The addition's roof slopes from the original to the side. The leaks were in the original section and were there when we first bought the house 5 years ago. Kenneth from Bellagio was the only person out of 5 roofing companies we contacted, who both made and kept an appointment to give a quote. Kenneth explained Bellagio hires employees and provides them with full benefits - medical, worker's comp., vacation, etc. - they do not sub-contract. We have 2 cats, and about half-way through his visit it became apparent he is allergic to cats. After politely declining to continue the discussion outdoors (it was a nice day), he showed us customer reviews they've collected over the past few years. When we decided to use Bellagio (it ended up being a couple months later), Kenneth came back out for an updated quote that was very close to the original. He said it might be a week before they could make an appointment. We were pleasantly surprised when he called the next day to say they could come the following morning to do the garage. My husband & I were both at work when they came and did the work, and were gone when we returned. I was the first one home, and backed into the driveway without concern. When I stopped and got out to open the garage door, I noticed a few nails in the driveway. Being concerned about my neighbor's yard (right next to the side of our garage), I stopped over to ask if I could look at their yard to see if any were over there. He said he looked when they left and only found one large-ish nail. The neighbor then helped me look through my driveway for nails. We located a small handful (15-20) of nails in the driveway and a few in the garage itself; and 2 large nails in my back yard. My husband had made plans to leave the payment for Bellagio to pick up while we were at work. When Kenneth called to confirm, I said I wouldn't pay at that time because of the nails we found. He sounded surprised and said they checked with their magnet. I felt like he was accusing me of lying about the nails. He did come out the next day to address the situation. At that time, he indicated the nails picked up by the magnet were deposited in the bed of his truck - when he pulled out, some must have fallen out. As we went over the work performed, I noticed some tar dripped onto our gas grill. He seemed truly puzzled by that & offered to clean it. He went to the store and picked up the cleaning supplies and cleaned it and one other item identified. When I asked if he could bring out his ladder so we could see how the roof turned out, he gladly did so. While we inspected the roof, he explained what they had done. By the time he left, the nails were addressed and the tar cleaned up. While I was not pleased these happened, the prompt attention and correction made quite a difference.
