We met James and his team 2019. We saw his truck in our neighborhood, and decided to call. He is pleasant, responsive, polite and most importantly, well educated in all things handy. Though he has helped us with several smaller projects, this most recent one stymied many other repair folk. His approach was careful, thoughtful and cost conscious. Before simply tearing out our failing deck floor and support, took his time, studied the situation and always kept us updated as to his thought process. In the end, he repaired a great many failings in our deck structure, then reinstalled our gently used vinyl flooring. Work and clean up completed within days of estimated time. We will call James again for our home repair needs!

Planned on (1) adding a ceiling fan to the living room where there wasn't any before. Wire two switches separate for dimmer and fan next to an existing switch. (2) Fix a pedestal sink in Master Bath which was not installed properly by the previous owner. (3) Add a new electrical outlet to the kitchen above an existing inaccessible outlet behind a counter. (4) Move an existing light fixture in main bath up one electrical box distance so it doesn't get hit by a cabinet door when the door is opened. (5) Mount a fluorescent light fixture in garage. (6) Weather strip two Metal doors, front and indoor garage. (7) Add a power outlet and switch to a coat closet for a new light fixture. (8) Add end cap to existing counter top. (9) Redo kitchen sink sprayer hose, but turned out a new faucet was needed, so they installed the new one. (10) Installed a new dryer vent. (11) Add outdoor vent to oven hood. Outcome, in order: I actually had all the materials needed except some minor hardware. They covered everything and despite the volume of cleanup, it was in great shape after they were done. Pictures are included. (1) Ceiling fan went flawless except for some minor chipping by new electrical boxes. They fixed on the second trip to reinstall pedestal sink. (2) Pedestal sink was a wonderful job, nice and secure now. It did take two trips as the wall repair to properly mount the sink needed time to dry. I also got the chance to paint BEHIND the sink while it wasn't there. (3) Original electrical outlet in kitchen had a loose wire so the two outlets in the dining room went dead. They returned, fixed in 10 minutes. (4) Fixture perfectly mounted. Although they could have smoothed out the new "mud" a bit more so sanding wouldn't be needed as bad. (5) Mounted with two screws in 5 minutes on second day. I already had it wired. (6) The magnetic weatherstripping was postponed to better weather. Need to convert from Magnetic stapled style to the new kerf style mounting because original style of magnetic replacements are now obsolete. (7) Installed perfectly, but light switch on other side of wall which was source of power was reinstalled so off was up. (I fixed.) (8) End cap installation postponed to next time they are here for weatherstrip and oven hood vent. (9) Kitchen sink now fully functional, new under-sink valves were needed also. All fixed. (10) Dryer vent perfectly installed where needed. (11) Oven hood vent postponed to better weather. All postponed jobs will be done on the next visit when weather breaks. These jobs were performed in mid-winter. Ann was a little hard to get a hold of at first, but it improved greatly as time went on. I found that email worked out better for our particular conversations. Pictures were taken during first visit. Do I recommend? Yes, they are Highly Recommended.

They did a great job. They repaired my deck, installed baseboard trim, doors, and other small things. They were flexible when I needed to add a couple things during the project and when my power went out for a couple of days from storms. They also delivered at their estimate. I would definitely use them again!

They are moderately priced but very good at what they do. I've had them do lots of things done by them and never had a problem. Anne Winnen is the owner and is always accessible for any questions.

I recently hired Winnen Handyman Services to replace a tub shower faucet and drain (with materials I had purchased). The main purpose was to replace and upgrade the faucet, which had been leaking. The handyman Winnen sent determined that the work would be much more involved than I had anticipated. He was very good about explaining what would need to be done and it was more than I felt I could handle at the time. So he looked into the possibility of fixing the leaking faucet and was successful at this by tightening the cartridge inside one of the handles. This saved me money and allowed me to put off the replacement until a later date. I am very pleased.

We used them a couple of times before. They were very good and the prices were very fair. They were quick to follow up and they did a good job. I would recommend them.

The quality of the work was good.  Good drywall repair, carpentry and light painting.

The quote was thorough and they showed up on time and did a good job while they were there.  The main source of dissatisfaction was that they didn't finish the job.  And the owner actually recommended that we get it completed by someone else, because they got shorthanded due to someone being sick and another leaving the company, and my work was not as important to them as their "outside painting" work, as told to me by the owner.  There just really wasn't any sense of customer focus or responsibility to complete what they quoted to do.

Can you imagine taking your car to a car wash, and having them turn off the machine just after putting soap on it and telling you to go somewhere else to rinse and dry the car because the weather turned bad?  That is what it felt like.  I felt like not paying them, but I did get a bill for partial work, and to avoid a dispute and to not penalize the actual workers who did good work, I paid it.

It's been over a year and I'm not sure of the exact date of the install.  I choose this company because they are local to me and specifically because they say they cater to 'small' jobs as well as larger jobs.  I believe "no job too small."    Being a single very busy woman there are a lot of things around my home that I cannot do nor have the time for.  I was happy with the response of this company and the worker showed up in a timely manner.   However his 'bedside manner' if you will left a lot to be desired.  As I was explaining what I wanted done I just got a blank look and very little to no response.  He never smiled the entire time he was here, never acknowledged the excited 'hi's' of all my daycare children, etc.  He was very much like he didn't want to be here.  The work done was okay, however at the end he just walked out and left, never explained to me what he had done, that he was done, etc.  It was weird.  Very unpersonable.  So while I guess that is okay it just really struck me as odd and more like I was a bother - not sure if it was because the job was very small or what.  But anyway I'll look for another more person-friendly company in the future.

This company does excellent work and seem to be in high demand.  The work was scheduled and completed within my time frames with flexibility demonstrated by both Winnen Handyman and me. Carpet and padding ws removed from my flooded basement on one day, and then later specialized workmen installed 2 cat doors, shelving, and a recessed toliet tissue holder, hung mirror and Installed new garbage disposal, new sink basket, replacing electrical cord, pipes and removing tapes.  I have asked for additional work to be completed on my deck once their schedule permits.  The workmen seem to care to do the work correctly and they know their trade.

The problem was fixed, but it was fairly expensive due to taking a while to replace the ballast in a lighting fixture.
I also asked for them to take advantage of the time out there to repair some damaged drywall, but the technician recommended I schedule a second call for that so they were not able to do that right away.  All in all, I spent $200 to replace a $40 ballast when I hoped to get more done for that.  But it was fixed and professionally done.

Everything was wonderful, from the estimate to the final cleanup. Can't begin to say how pleased I am. Ann Winnen is professional, knowledgeable and responsive.  Her estimate was accurate, and she reduced some costs when only one coat of paint was needed in some rooms instead of two. Her painter could have said he applied two coats, and I would not have known the difference, but he was honest and Ann responded accordingly.  I had no trouble contacting her when I needed. Her staff is professional, personable and experienced in their crafts. Patrick, Bob, Andy and Jason became like family. They completed the jobs on my list in a reasonable time and they fixed some builder errors and broken GFIs they found while doing their work. Four replacement bottom window sashes I ordered came with two locks instead of one. Patrick removed the two locks, filled the holes and attached one lock in the center of each so it would meet with the lock on the original top sash.  This saved me from having to return the window sashes and wait another 5 weeks for others to arrive. The installation of a pedestal sink in the powder room became a project when Jason discovered that the water supply came thru the floor and not the wall and that the shut off knobs where in the basement and not by the sink.  He corrected all the plumbing. Bob installed a light in a small walk-in closet. He had to open a sealed access to the attic and run wiring so the light and switch would be installed correctly. Patrick and Andy noticed that the deck was not anchored well when they installed new boards and a rail. It was hazardous, but they secured it properly. I had dry wall holes everywhere from my do-it-yourself projects and my dingy paint made my home look pretty sad. Ann consulted with me on paint colors and her crew fixed all my dry wall messes before painting. They got their equipment out of my way as best as possible each day when they left and cleaned up when they were done. Patrick picked up the window sashes at the home improvement store, saving me the delivery charge. Jason recycled my old toilets and sink saving me the trouble of having them hauled away. I began to question my decision to install a new shower stall in the master bath when I saw what it entailed - the cutting and removal of the old one, ripping out of drywall and baseboards, reworking the drain. Oh my!  I am ecstatic that I went forward with the project. Not only is the new shower clean and unstained by our well water, it is roomy and works like a charm.  Patrick is the Rembrandt of house painting. No mess or drips, and he had to move some massive furniture to get a the walls. The two-story foyer is like painting on the side of Mount Everest, but he scaled it expertly. I will definitely use Winnen again and recommend them to all.

I called and they scheduled an appointment for the next business day. They quoted me the minimum price for the repair and I agreed because I thought it was quite reasonable. The repairman arrived and finished the job quickly. The bill was actually less than the minimum charge that had been quoted to me.

Winnen was very quick to respond and schedule the work. Employee came at scheduled time, performed the job, but had to charge a bit extra unexpectedly to get the installation completed. (Sorry I can't remember exactly why)
