I used sharp shooter for my home inspection and it went perfectly. Matt Adams came to my new house and very thoroughly went through and inspected every inch of the house. This is my first home purchase and I had many questions and Matt very confidently answered. It was very clear he knew what he was doing. I appreciated the effort and professionalism displayed by Matt Adams and sharpshooter. Highly recommend giving them a call if you need their services.

This review is to add to previously submitted review. I recently was contacted by Matt Adams the owner of sharpshooter and he threatened legal action based on my honest review. Attached is copy of email. I did make one error on review. Matt is the realtor John Scaglione assistants nephew and not his brother in law as stated in prior review. This is still unethical and possibly illegal. I attempted to contact Matt when problems arose and he ignored me until November when he decided to threaten me for my review. We have had nothing but problems with our home and Matt inspected all the areas we are having problems with. We spent 13000 for basement waterproofing. After that our roof failed and sharpshooter said it would be good for approximately 10 more years. 8,000.00 to repai. We also had Matt do a termite invasive insect inspection. Come to find out we had an extensive termite problems that they entire floor joist was destroyed. The professional that fixed it said this problem was going on for years and Matt missed it. It cost us $5600 to repair. Sharpshooter tried to bully me into removing review. He did a terrible job and home wouldn’t of been purchased if he would of did his job and found all the deficits with our home. I rated f for price because he didn’t do what he was paid to do. Threatening legal action against a customer is no way to do business.
Response from Sharpshooter Home Inspections
"All inspections are visual and non invasive. I can't comment on what I can't see. I have performed thousands on inspections and this is the only negative review I have received. Take that for what it's worth."

We were in a time crunch and needed our roof inspected right away. Sharpshooter was able to come out the same day and not only inspect the roof, but also certify it. Matt was very professional, courteous, and provide us with a great price. Would highly recommend their services!

Matt was VERY professional, patient, and knowledgeable. He performed the inspection, even mentioned some minor details (like electric outlets that are upside down are connected to the light switch). Matt patiently answered questions and explained everything to myself, my dad, and my fiance. He was able to explain why certain things are issues and who to call to fix the issue. He also noted some areas that will need to be addressed within the first 5 years, to better understand how to budget for our future home. Matt made me feel much better about my first home purchase and put me at ease throughout the whole process. Matt did a general pest and mold inspection to tell us that we don't need further assessments. He even cut open the attic door (with our permission) to inspect it. I felt Matt went above and beyond what I expected for a general home inspector. I highly recommend him and his services to anyone!

I was recommended to Matt from my realtor John Scaglione. Its the realtors partner Brother in Law. At first I thought he did a good job with inspection. But one month after we moved in we started getting water on basement. I pointed out the cove joint seepage during inspection and asked about cracks in the basement floor. I was told the cracks are very common in Ohio. I have had 6 other companies tell me something different. They said the cracks are from hydrostatic pressure from the faulty footer drain. The footer drain is black corrugated pipe and they all told me the are prone to failing and builders don't use it anymore. Shouldn't a professional home inspector know this? Mine happens to be clogged on outside of pipe and not one drop of water is draining to sump. Sharpshooter had no way of knowing this. But the signs were there for serious problems. As a professional he should of spotted this and referred me to a specialist if he didn't know. Sharpshooter did address a little wall seepage on his report as a minor concern. Its a 13,000 dollar problem. I would say that is a major concern and a deal breaker on purchasing your home. Sharpshooter ignored a serious signs of problems with my home purchase. The cracks in floor and the cove joint seepage should of led him to further investigate the situation. The cracks on floor and cove joint seepage are not even addressed on his report. This is not only a major concern but a 13,000 problem that a professional home inspector should of caught. I would not recommend sharpshooter to anyone needing a professional home inspector. I attempted to contact sharpshooter prior to review and received zero feedback or attempt by sharpshooter to contact me.
Response from Sharpshooter Home Inspections
"I'm shocked by this review. The issues he talks about was in my report. In fact I have pictures of the moisture staining the customer is referring about. The customer was at the inspection with me and there was not active water penetration at the time of inspection. All home inspections refer to the condition as if the date of inspection. I can't predict the future. Every grade he gave me is false. I was the first person at the inspection so how do I deserve a B? Price is a C??? That price is extremely fair. Also, I'm not the brother in law of the real estate agent. I have never had a negative review and for good reason."
