Bishop's tree service was punctual in giving a free estimate.

They provided the service as promised on the agreed date. I love the trimmed Maple, they did a great job - it opened up my yard. The wood of the cut down tree was stacked as agreed, in a neat way, and the smaller branches were all cleared.  My yard was clean and raked. Love the job!

The crew arrived on the job and started immediately. Within a few hours, the crew had removed two trees.  However, some of the workers began complaining about the weight of the wood.  I suggested that they back their truck into the backyard to load up and use it to move the wood to the front yard.  By the time the second tree was removed and most of the wood had been properly moved to the front yard, the crew indicated that they were going home for the day and would return the next morning at 10:00 AM to cut down the third tree and finish the job.  Nick asked for a $100 down payment, which I gave to him.
The crew did arrive promptly on the second day by 10:00 AM.  However, the second day did not go very well.  There were several problems with the equipment and it took several hours to get the third tree down.  Finally, after the third tree was down, I noticed the crew was working at my neighbor's home instead of mine.  The work at my home had appeared to stop.  When I questioned Nick, he assured me that my job would be completed and that they were also working on the job next door while doing mine.  As it was getting near dark, Nick said the wood from the third tree now down and laying in my yard was too heavy and he intended to return next week with an electric cart to move the wood to the front yard to finish the job.  Nick requested $400 since the three trees had been taken down and promised to return the next week for the remaining $150 due when moving the wood.
By the next week, I did not hear from Nick.  I attempted to contact him at the personal number that he had written down on the contract - wrong number.  Nick and the crew did not return to finish the job and left a large cut up tree laying in the middle of my back yard.  I contacted Mr. Bishop and he mentioned that Nick was no longer working for him. Mr. Bishop agreed to return to finish the job and thanked me for my business.  On Friday, April 19th, Mr. Bishop arrived with two workers.  One of the workers was on the original crew and the second worker was a recent hire.  I noticed that Mr. Bishop did not appear happy that the job had not been finished.  He left both crew members to finish the work and indicated that he would return.  I noticed that the one crew member was working while the new crew seemed more interested in selling me other or additional work.  While I assured him that I would consider him for additional work, I mentioned that current job would first need to be finished.  This same crew member constantly rang the door bell and continuously attempted to nickel and dime me for other side projects.  Finally, the door bell rang again and the new crew member let me know that the other crew member working in my back yard had been (lightly) hit in the head with a log.  Since he had been the only one working, no one was working at this point.  The new crew member contacted Mr. Bishop as he was returning.  When Mr. Bishop arrived, he was visibly angry at the one crew member for getting hurt and at both crew members for not finishing the job.
I advised Mr. Bishop to call me by noon the next day (Saturday) to let me know when he intended to finish to job.  I never expected a return phone call from Mr. Bishop because one of his crew members had mentioned to me that he had two other jobs lined up for that same weekend at $1,300 and $1,700.  Mr. Bishop did not follow through with a return phone call.  Bishop's Stump Removal and Tree Service left a large cut up tree laying in the middle of my backyard for about two weeks that I had to hire and pay someone else to remove.  As a result, I cannot recommend this company to anyone.
