I called this "company" at the suggestion of a friend on June 19, 2013 for a quote to take down a dead tree, leave the wood that could be used in a fire place, take the rest, and leave the stump and roots. He came out the same day and gave me a quote of $500. On Wednesday, July 10, I called him at 631pm to schedule a day/time for them to take the tree down. He offered to come down that very night, but I said no and he responded that they would be down the next morning. The conversation we had was very difficult, with me repeating myself mulitple times, explaining who I was at least twice, and giving my address over and over again, because he couldn't comprehend what I was saying. Finally, I thought we had it, and we disconnected. When they didn't arrive by 9am the next morning, I called him and explained, once again, who I was, why I was calling, and said that I thought we'd had a bad connection the night before. He asked to call me back in a couple of minutes. He called back 30 minutes later, read me the wrong address, and said they'd be down shortly. After doing the address thing AGAIN, we finally got it right. They arrived at 11am and the first thing I had to do was let a young man I had never seen before in my house to use the restroom. He left a mess behind and had to go back to flush the toilet. They got to work. Twenty minutes later, my door bell rings and I'm asked if I have any duct tape and nail polish remover because the "climber" had dropped his "$400 chain saw" and broken the handle. I had to get duct tape from my neighbor, and didn't care to know why they needed finger nail polish remover, just gave it to them. They got back to work. About three hours later, the doorbell rings and I asked by the same young man who used my bathroom for "something to drink". I provided a glass of ice water. They finally get the tree down and I'm asked if they can leave a "small pile of brush" because it won't fit in the truck. I said yes, because at this point I wanted it done. I asked if they'd run into any termites or ants in removing the tree and was told ants, no termites, and they could give me a great on a spray treatment. I paid an additional $50 for them to spray the perimiter of my house and live trees with a some kind of "super spray" they had. (I honestly think they sprayed my foundation with water, but I have NO proof of that.) They came back the next day to do some work in my neighbors yard, and finish mine up. I got a knock on the door and was asked for a ladder so they could get on the roof of my house to get the debris off the roof. I don't own a ladder, and I'm not entirely sure I understand why a tree service wouldn't have one on their truck, but whatever. They had to borrow a ladder from my truck. On Monday, July 15, I realize that the large pile of brush in my front yard is the "small pile of brush" alluded to earlier and they weren't coming back to get it. I called him and said that the "small pile of brush" he left was too large for us to do anything with, that we can't burn in the city, and that the trash collectors won't take it. He promises to come back the next day to pick it up. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday come and go, and I still have pile of brush in my yard. On Friday, July 19, they show up, I suspect only because they've agreed to do work at another neighbor's house and knew I would see them. He insists they will take care of the bursh. Proving to me that they knew the brush was too big, they get out their chain saws and cut it down into something more manageable for them to handle. (If they had to cut it down, what did they think I was going to do with it?) They proceeded to leave a single worker at my neighbors for several hours. When they came back to pick him up it was storming, the worker had helped himself to a lawn chair and was sitting on my car port waiting for his team to come back to get him. They manage to pick up the mess in my neighbors yard, but all of a sudden, the door bell rings again. It's too dangerous for them to be out and they will be back the next day (Saturday, July 20) to pick up the brush. It is now Tuesday, July 23, and I now have two piles of brush in my front yard, one on a tarp. My neighbor has a large dead spot of grass in his yard where the original pile laid for over a week, and I am sure I now have a dead spot in my own yard, under the tarp. I've left yet another voice mail telling them the brush needs to be gone by close of business today, and I have not heard from them. This has truly been the most unprofessional service experience I have ever had, and I've learned that you really get what you pay for.
