I wrote 2 checks to this company, one for $428, which paid for the injections and tree trimming. I made it to The Affordable Ones Tree Care on 6/27/15. They came back the following week to finish the job, or so I thought. They cut down the ash tree, but did not cut up the logs into small pieces. The tree is still resting partly on my property and into the farmer's field. I told them to take the wood as I do not have a fireplace. They wanted to drive a truck over my irrigation system and I said no. They told me they would hand cart the wood out to the truck and they demanded payment, even though the contract states "no payment until job completion". So, I wrote another check for the remaining balance of $1070 on 7/1/15 to The Affordable Ones Tree Care and I was told that now I had to write it out to an Edward Dehart, instead. This name is nowhere on the contract form, but they were insistent and I was outnumbered, so I paid...knowing that the job is unfinished but trusting that this company would do the right thing and return to finish the job. They have never returned. I have called them repeatedly...sometimes talking with someone and getting promises to come, but no one ever does what they promise. Usually, I get an answering machine message that just sounds like a cell phone is in the background, too [as if they decide who gets through to talk to a real person or just gets lip service. Last week, I went to the Miami County Sheriff for help, explained and showed the Deputy everything. He called the number on the contract and got the answering machine at first. When he identified himself, they answered. He spoke with them and was promised they would come here last Saturday [7/11/15] to finish the job. They never showed up and when I called on Monday [7/13/15], it was back to the answering machine and the funny background noise. I returned to the Sheriff's Office and they got some background information and told me to wait for them to discuss this company with the Miami County Prosecutor.
I just want the job done. I paid for the work they promised and I deserve a completed job. All they have to do is to show up and finish what they started and abandoned.
