I signed a contract on 9/1/2010 for a job that was supposed to take 2 days, but the equipment broke down. The boss Kurt Holmes was supposedly going out of town, and I gave in to pressure for the requested post-dated check for 9/4 even though I promised cash once the work was done & approved. Also the contract states that "FINAL PAYMENT IS DUE AT COMPLETION OF WORK". Then Holmes went to CheckSmart & cashed it on 9/3 (a day early) before the job was done, and before I could transfer money to my checking from an IRA. I confronted one of the employees, Chris, who was apologetic; but the salesman Ronald A. Hedge became belligerent and began yelling at me. Also the written contract "total" didn't include an additional $500 I was charged, even though I requested a corrected receipt. It was not only misleading to me, but I am guessing would be to an accountant for tax purposes. The job is still unfinished, they have full payment, and AT&T had to repair lines the company cut through with the grinder. Noone from the company mentioned the damage. The salesman had made the comment at one point, that he wanted to get on Angie's List, since it was the "gold standard". Therefore I became a member today just so I could warn any potential future clients.
