Meade's Paving

They left large oily stains all over the driveway. I have had seal-coating done by other companies since Meade's did the first seal-coating on my newly blacktopped driveway, but the stains always reappear. The driveway looks terrible. I would never hire them again.

After getting the estimate (which was very quick), the problem was to get them to actually commit to a firm date to do the work. It took 3-4 months and a series of phone calls to get a scheduled work date (and we were completely flexible). Though once that occurred, they showed up on time, did an excellent job, and the driveway turned out great.

Terrible. Initial meeting with Rick was good, he arrived on time & was very professional, prompting me to hire them for the work. They repeatedly did not call me back, scheduled an appointment to start & didn't show up, but showed up 2.5 weeks later in the middle of the day without calling, therefore locking me into having them finish the work whether I had called another company or not. They were supposed to do the same job at my parents' house & never showed up to even start, also would never call them back, only would speak to me. The girl who answers the phones is very unprofessional & unorganized. The driveway looks nice, but the way the job was handled very unprofessionally. Based off of my experience with Bob & Jenny, I would not use this company again, nor would I recommend them to anyone else. My parents never received a call about their job, after 2 estimates (due to lost paperwork) & multiple promises from Bob, the Foreman & Jenny that they were going to be there to do it.

Excellently! They edged the entire drive, ground off to a clean surface, blew off debris, filled a crack from a tree root and sealcoated, quickly and efficiently with a professional crew. Scheduling was delayed a week or two because of a busy summer schedule. Looks great!

The actual paving was done nicely. The level of professionalism however left a bad impression. Was told LAST year that they wouldn't be able to get to me & my parents' houses to redo our driveways because they were booked out & promised we would be at the top of the jobs list for this year. I had to call repeatedly before they finally came to START the job at my home & they didn't notify me when they were actually coming. The only time they confirmed a time with me was when they actually came to pave. My parents haven't even been called to schedule theirs!! They had stairs & decking removed from the side of the house because we were told they would be doing both jobs at the same time because of our close proximity to one another. My driveway is now finished & I was promised multiple times that they would be getting over to my parents' house to get them done as well......my parents still have not even received so much as a phone call! And when they call to inquire, the people who work at Meade's act like they don't know who she is & can't find the paperwork (they have had 2 separate estimates done because of lost paperwork). This company is unorganized & unprofessional & I would not recommend them to anyone after the experience I just had & the complete disregard for the job they were supposed to be doing at my parents' home. I feel like they are treating my parents like their job isn't important because it isn't costing as much money as mine did!

There was a delay in getting the date set for the work, but once they stated a definite date, they came with all their equipment ready to do the complete job.  The owner came as well, and all were very attentive to what our wishes were. There were a couple of extras that they did that were not initially planned on or charged separately for, such as cutting out a section of our concrete walkway to make a wonderful slope to connect the asphalt to the concrete and a rain diverter. The asphalt is beautiful and couldn't have been done any better to our satisfaction. A truly professional job!

They came back first thing Friday morning and sealcoated the driveway.  It only took 45 minutes.

I always let my reviews simmer as I want to let time act on the service and materials of a job.

Initially there were some timing issues, but this is a smaller business (that is a good thing) that got very busy really quick. They gave me an initial estimate and was the lowest bidder with the best (most) materials. After the extension to our parking area was complete we let it rest a season before top coating and it looks great. They did an excellent job and we recommend them to everyone who inquires about our driveway.
Rick and Bob tell it like it is and their advice was spot on as I researched it. Other’s companies seemed to think I would not check on what they were trying to pass off, these companies wanted way more money and typically offered less base and topcoat.

Bottom line I work too hard to throw my money away and I will typically walk away from a project until I feel safe before jumping in. Meade Pavement will get my future business, should I ever need anything else done.

The office staff was very friendly and helpful on the phone in setting up the original estimate and then the work. Rick and Bob both came out to do the estimate and to problem solve with us. They are both extremely knowledgeable and listened and were patient in helping us figure out what we could do.
Our old drive was probably original to the 1930s home and in replacing it Meade's had to solve many problems. It is shared, running near both houses' foundations and they had to protect both with careful grading. Our neighbor's and our garages were originally built at a lower point so again the grading had to be carefully done to direct rain water away and to the street. There is a large pine near the end of the drive whose roots were encroaching and this had to be dug out much more deeply with a special sheeting put down to protect the new drive from the water that would naturally accumulate in connection with the tree's roots.
It was amazing to watch the crew work with such finesse to dig out the old asphalt and slabs of concrete while protecting the structures all around them. Rick insists on the first grade of gravel to be compacted and allowed settle for at least two weeks with at least one good rain to make the best foundation before the final grade of gravel and asphalt are put down to finish. This was done.
After the drive was finished Meade's was quite responsive in getting back with me when I had concerns about how it would drain with the first heavy rain. Bob came out to explain how the grading would work. It has worked beautifully.
The driveway also looks beautiful.
They are experts and artists in their work.

Very good job. On time and work very well done.

I like everything about them and I would recommend to anyone.

Quality work. They were able to patch a crack that I couldn't get patched two years trying.They are thourough. They cleared the grass off the edge. They cleaned the driveway and cracks. And most important, they taped off our new stamped sidewalk to protect it. Their job was very neat.

Rick and his crews were on-time and acted professionally.

They came and did it when i was gone. I didnt think it wasnt adiquite and all the cracks were not filled. I called them and they said the driveway was wet and they said they couldnt see everything but they would come back. They never came back and do some more. They also never billed me so I called them and left sevral messages about coming back or billing. The cracks they did fill they did excellent, they were prompt but they didnt finish and follow up. If they did the whole job as well as what they did I would give them an A rating.

I called on a Tuesday. They came out that Thursday, gave me an estimate, and the work was done by Friday afternoon. They did an excellent job. On time, good work, decent cost. All in all - I am very pleased.

We were happy with the service that they provided. They were very nice and professional. The work was completed in 1 day and we love how it meets up with the road. At one time, there was a dip in the road when you were leaving the driveway. They fixed that for us. I thought they were reasonably price as well.
