Danco Enterprises Inc
About us
Danco Enterprises was founded in 1976 as a solar distributor. The product line progressed into geothermal sales, service, and installation in 1985 representing the WaterFurnace line of equipment. Danco has established itself as an industry leader by establishing a top quality program offering a total comfort package. We were selected as the WaterFurnace of Ohio Quality Contractor of the Year in 1995 and continue to offer top notch service to our "family" of clients. We specialize in WaterFurnace geothermal systems, which operate more efficiently than ordinary heating and air conditioning systems because it can deliver an astounding five units of energy for every one unit of electrical energy used. By combining stored earth energy with safe electric power, many WaterFurnace owners realize savings up to 70% for heating, cooling and hot water. We have our own equipment including backhoe, horizontal directional drill, etc. Additional email - [email protected].

An inspection of the house to determine the heating and cooling load was made within days of the initial contact. The installation schedule was as agreed upon; that is, there were no delays in the installation. The reason for the higher than normal price is the extra ducting that had to be installed for the second floor.
All was very professional.
"(removed member name), I am glad Danco did a wonderful job for you but the Danco you want is Danco Transmissions not Danco Enterprises, Inc. We are a geothermal heating and cooling company. WE do not do transmissions."
Alain came out to do the estimate, and he was able to answer all my questions, and reduce some of my queasiness at having someone drill under my house to get to the furnace. Their estimate was very close to the other one i got, but the other company was not going to put the lines in as deep and the other company's rep did not answer my questions very well.
This was a 3-day process. The first two days were spent installing 4 underground loops using a directional boring machine. This was way cool to watch. They use a radio control to keep track of where the drilling bit is located, and it's amazing how accurately they can place the lines. They drill and place their lines 6-12 feet underground, so you get the best thermal transfer, and there is very little danger of anything getting to the lines. NOT all companies do this, so look for this if you do a comparison. They went under my garage, and came up in the yard on the other side of the property.. The other company i spoke with was going to put them 18" underground! Not good for transfer, and NOT convenient !
The third day, they connected the 4 lines to a manifold, and bored under my basement, coming up 6" from the old furnace. Good aim :-) They removed the old furnace, installed the new one ,added the new circuits to my electrical panel. By 4pm, i had nice cool air, and they had cleaned everything up. And it's so QUIET! There's a 6' square area in the side yard that they had to dig for the manifold, but otherwise, you can hardly tell they were there.
The replacement was eligible for a $1600 DP&L instant rebate. The cost above is AFTER the DP&L rebate. On top of that there is a 30% tax credit for using geothermal.
The only problems we had were due to us not having an accurately marked electric panel (our fault), and one water issue. They use our water to create "drilling mud" and it consumed faster than our pump would produce, so they had to stop a couple of times. No permanent issues, but it slowed things down.
The workers answered any questions i came up with, and were really nice about me taking lots of pictures while they were working, too. I'll update the review with how i like the heating, next spring.
Alain Gingras was our main point-of-contact and he was excellent to work with. He patiently answered all of our questions and would return phone calls promptly or email back very quickly (sometimes in a matter of minutes even late into the evening). The excavation and install crews showed up on time, accomplished the work as stated, and conducted themselves in a professional manner. So far the system itself seems to be working fine. The A/C seems to cool the house better than our old central air unit and I'm really looking forward to seeing how well the furnace works this winter.
The only problem we encountered was that the work was done right after all the rain and flooding occured in April and early May, and the ground was extremely soft. As a result, the boring machine made a muddy mess in a much larger area of our yard than anticipated and put deep ruts in the grass getting to the excavation point. The machine even sunk down enough to sever the buried satellite dish cable.
When Alain stopped by the next day to check the progress, I showed him the severed cable. He then ran out to Lowes and bought the items to fix the cable, came back a little while later, and (in 6 inches of mud!) repaired the cable himself. As for the mess in the yard, Alain, or someone from the company, came back out a few weeks after the work was complete when things had dried out, smoothed out the ground, and planted grass seed.
I have nothing but good things to say about Danco! I would recommend them to anyone. The customer service we received from Alain was top-notch!
Our old air conditioning system no longer worked, so to keep us comfortable until they could do the excavation, Dan installed a temporary AC tower. The unit stood on our driveway, and the guys hooked it into the new furnace. It cooled the entire house through the hottest period of the summer.
All the guys were very nice and easy to talk to. They answered my questions patiently and thoroughly. They patched around the holes they made to bring the pipes into the house and cleaned up their work areas.
I highly recommend Danco. They did an excellent job!
