They came out to see what was wrong. They ordered parts and came back on a Fri. They replaced the gasket which had a hole in it. He left and I ran a load and came back to find gallons of water all over my floor. It ruined my floor. I immediately called him back and it was after hours so he told me he wouldn't be back until Mon. He came back Mon at the end of the day and put a strap back on that holds gasket in place. I was able to do about 6 loads before I again had water on my floors. That Friday I called again to say there was a problem again. They said they wouldn't be out until at least Mon. They did say they would pay for floor repairs. The man was very unprofessional, swearing a few times with my children in the next room. I finally called someone else who was able to fix it completely.

Pros: Dishwasher doesn't leak any more. Cons: 1. Didn't call prior to arrival (2 occasions) even though I was assured repairman would do so. 2. Took two visits to do the job (condition of home warranty I was told) 3. Pulled dishwasher out onto ceramic tile floor without concern about metal scratching the tile. I asked him to be more gentle 4. He had difficulty putting the dishwasher back into place and offered to perform a different type of installation by drilling and screwing into the "formica" counter-- I have granite counter tops.

They have also repaired our washing machine and dryer in the past. They are very good, efficient, and not outrageously priced.

They are a good company. I have called them before that for a washer and dryer. Their price is reasonable.

It went well. The job required two trips only because the replacement timer needed to be ordered. During the first trip, Ken diagnosed that the timer needed to be replaced, and placed the order for the part. He told us that the part would arrive in two days. Two days later he returned to install it. His work is professional, friendly, and efficient.

On the return visit to repair the dishwasher, the company did not call ahead to schedule, they just assumed I would be available. Once I was at home, they were 30-45 minutes late. The company did not call in between the diagnostic visit and repair visit to present me with options, as they said they would. They did not complete the repair due to an alleged wiring problem. I strongly recommend either not using this company, or asking your home warranty folks if they can contract a different company.

We just purchased this house, so the repair was to be covered by our home warranty. There is an automatic $100 deductible with this warranty, and our total bill from Carris was $91 - practically the full amount of the deductible. The technician did the repair quickly - in fewer than 10 minutes, and charged $64 for labor - which is way too much! He also asked if I wanted to write a check or pay by credit card. I elected credit card, and after I paid, he told me he had charged me an additional $6 just to use a credit card. He should have told me that before.

We have an insurance policy that covers appliance repairs in our home. We called the insurance company and they directed us to Carris. We called them and they scheduled us for repairs a week out, but were then able to pull the scheduled repair in to a day later. They called that morning with a 3-hour window for the repairman's visit. He showed up shortly after the beginning of the window and went right to work. It turned out the problem was a clogged dryer duct which he said he couldn't repair, but he did open the dryer up and replaced some wiring and a component that appeared to be damaged by the overheating. We felt foolish that it was such a simple problem, but were a little disappointed that he couldn't fix it. After we signed the bill and paid the deductible, it was also a little disappointing that he waited until then to mention that the washing machine was leaking oil. I guess it felt like he waited until then so they could schedule a second visit and get a second payment, but it was probably just a matter of scheduling one job at a time and it was just his timing that made it seem suspicious. We cleaned the vent ourselves and the dryer's working fine now.

Ken arrived at the scheduled time to evaluate the problem with the washing machine. The machine was not going into final rinse/spin during regular and permapress cycles. Ken determined that it needed a new timer and it would take two days to arrive from the supplier. Due to my work schedule, I asked if he was working on Christmas Eve day. Ken was working 1/2 day on that Monday. We arranged to have it repaired in the morning on December 24th. Ken called ahead of time and was there within the designated time. He replaced the timer and the machine works beautifully. He was courteous, neat and skillful.

The technician spent about 20-25 minutes minutes hanging out in the kitchen and was there through the cycle of the refrigerator kicking in and cooling and then stopping. However, there were no noises (of course). The technician did not examine the refrigerator. I did, however, appreciate that the technician answered some questions that I had. Because this was a call to the home warranty company, I still had to pay the $45 call fee - though no work was performed.

He did a great job, there was a small problem with a gas leak, but he came back and repaired it, at no additional charge. He charged a reasonable price and I would use him, again.

I notified him and he was here on time. The wife asked for the model and serial number for my machine, and by doing this he had a pretty good idea of what he'd need to do the job. He checked the motor board and that was the defect. He had the part on the truck to replace because of finding the model beforehand. He checked everything and ran the washing machine to make sure it worked before he finished the job. He cleaned up real well and took all his trash with him.

On original service call, service person advised that disposal could not be economically repaired. Suggested replacement with similar unit. Gave 2 or 3 options based on horsepower, warranty length, etc. Estimated cost for new unit and installation. Follow up installation visit and installation of new activator switch.

Under our home warranty, Carris Appliance came out to fix the gas leak in my range's gas line, as detected by the gas company. After performing the tests to determine location of the gas leak (same tests the gas company performed), technician determined that leak had to repaired by a plumber, and that he could not repair it. However, he still charged the service fee plus some, and in the end, gas leak ended up being on the opposite end of the gas line (not tested by Carris)and bigger than what Carris had indicated. It was a waste of money.

Hiring this company was required through my home-warranty plan. Very responsive and timely. Filter replacement was sought, but could not be obtained. I thought it was a bit coincidental that they collected the $100 deductible from me and then the bill came to exactly $100.
