Received prompt and professional response to inquiry followed by quick cost proposal. Requested but did not receive advanced notice before work was performed. Work was executed well and job site was left in clean condition

The sales representative arrived promptly when he said he would, looked over the work that was asked for and gave us a quote the same day. He explained that because the Cottonwood had bad decay at the base of the trunk they would not be able to safely climb the tree so a portable crane would need to be brought in. Upon acceptance of the quote we were given a date for the work to be done. The crew showed up on time and on the date agreed upon with all the equipment. Remarkably, the portable crane fit through the 49 inch gate leading to the back yard as did the skid steer used to remove the limbs and trunk sections. The members of the crew were courteous, highly professional and cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. While the Locust trees were relatively small, the Cottonwood was anywhere from 75 to 80 feet tall, had a rotting base and very large limbs. This was the worst possible tree in the worst possible location and they removed it without injury or incident. There was some damage to the lawn from the crane and the skid steer but that was unavoidable and well worth the trade-off. A smaller crew came by the next morning to finish the cleanup and spread some grass seed in the damaged areas. Davey Tree is not the inexpensive. I was warned by friends to hire a smaller company that would charge less. They did not see the Cottonwood, nor the location of that tree. Prior to watching the work being done I might have given Davey Tree a "B" for the price rating, but having watched them work all day cutting that tree down, they earned every penny!

The workmen were excellent.  The clean up was not good.  The salesperson was not a good communicator and was not prompt in returning calls.

Kenneth Cloutier pre-surveyed the job and immediately provided us with printed, detailed estimate. He also verbally explained all work and costs. He scheduled the job without any further communication or delay. A couple of days later, the foreman, Harrison, and his crew arrived and immediately got to work. Their trucks were safely parked. A spotter ensured that the large bucket truck cleared all obstacles; wires and trees. Even though they were on relatively level ground the wheels were chocked. Pads were placed on our lawn and driveway for the bucket truck's outriggers. Local traffic, although light was never impeded and care was exercised for our neighbors' property. All of the equipment was in perfect running condition and the crew were all trained and competent in its' use. Safety was always properly observed; harnesses, safety glasses , etc. The tree was taken down and its stump was ground to well below grade. The total work area was swept and cleaned, even the street. There was no unnecessary noise such as yelling, and unused equipment was shut down. This crew hustled! They all knew their duties and kept busy from start to finish. We are very pleased that we used Davey Tree.

These guys are the best! They did an excellent job, were courteous and professional, and cleaned up the work area when finished. They even ground a stump of a small apple tree that I chopped down a few years ago, for no extra charge. I definitely recommend them.

We use them once a year. They charged $104 per spray. They did two sprays. They did the job. It keeps the trees going.

They were fabulous. I have them do work for me every year. A lot of times I'll have my gardening guys put things in but I also have Davey Tree take things out and they do a good job. They do yearly pruning of all my tree. I pay when they do the service. I've had them do big jobs that have cost like 3,000 dollars. The pruning depends on what they have to do, damage and what not and how many trees they take out. I have a lot of trees. They do the deep root stuff. I've been using them for years. Ken the arborist takes the time to walk through every plant, every tree and he accommodates my requests. I can't say enough good things about him.

I have used Davey Tree for almost 15 years for tree maintenance and was confident to call them again for this project.  This branch got a new arborist a couple years ago, Ken C., who is terrific -- very knowledgeable and helpful.  He came to the house to discuss the removal and what type of trees for replacement that would work best for my yard and ones that would not overgrow on the house as the last ones did.  His suggestions were exactly what I wanted and the new plantings look terrific in my landscape.  I was not at home during the removal and replanting, but when I got home from work, everything looked perfect.  It was a hot day, and one of the trees looked like it got very dry before it went into the ground, and I'm a bit concerned how well it will recover.  I was told there was a 4 year warranty on all plantings, so I will call next spring if it doesn't green-up. 

The timeline for this project was excellent.  From my initial call to project completion was less than 3 weeks.
