Richmond roofing did roof back in 2006. I bought home and found out that shingles were put on incorrectly and over bad wood. I now have to completely have my roof replaced. Workmanship was awful and not sure how they are still in business. I will be calling attorney general.

Tried to schedule an at-home estimate for a roof repair based on the previous stellar reviews. My initial inquiry was via their "contact us" button on their website. 4 business days later after no contact yet I called. I got a "yes, we see your inquiry here". Unfortunately they couldn't schedule the estimate yet at that point as I want to be home when the estimate happens so they would need to have their estimator call me direct to schedule. It's now been about 2 weeks since that and still nothing. I left a couple of voicemails with only one call back which of course I missed. In the one message the secretary said to call her back the next day between 8:30-noon to schedule the appointment which I did. Unfortunately I got their voicemail and still waiting for a call back.

Ralph had been back and forth a few times talking thru ice dams with me. Our furnace is located in the attic which accounts for the heat. He asked if my soffit vents were working properly and I said I thought so but checked anyway. Turns out the insulation in the attic was jammed up against the eaves. Not enough air flow to vent the heat out the ridge vents. I had new soffit vents installed and pulled the insulation back from the eaves. Dramatic change the next season but still one minor ice dam. Ralph came back out the following year and did more digging. He found an area of the roof that could have been done better. Warranty was 10 years on workmanship and he came out to fix it at no charge 8 years later. There will still be ice dams in the area due to where the sun can't hit but suggested getting deicing cables for that small section. He could just as well not said anything since there was already great improvement. This type of great customer service is hard to find. Ralph and team, well done and thanks!

One of the lowest bids received for the work performed and took complete charge in obtaining the required city permit. The all amish crew was on-time, extremely thorough in moving objects that might be damaged and protecting objects that could not be moved, and very quick and capable in completing the work. Upon completion did a very good clean-up and replacement of the moved items. I could not be happier with the work. They will be my goto company for any future roofing work.

Ralph was clear on what work would be performed. He showed that his default was to do the job right, since he defaulted to doing a tear off first and to covering some of the wood near the edges with a material meant to deal with ice formations. His crew performed the work in two and a half days and did a pretty good job cleaning up. We did need to have our person who sealed our attic from animals come back out and redo some caulking. After the roof tear-off, some small holes into the attic were left. Since we didn't want bats again, we had to seal these up separately. These were areas under the roof that had been caulked before, but were not re-caulked after the roof was added. But to be fair, roofers and animal control companies are different and look for different things. Ralph was honest about us not needing new gutters, but he did put on gutter covers that have helped. He itemized this option so we could choose whether to do it or not. We were a little disappointed with the way that our flashing stood out after the new roof was put on, since our flashing happens to be particularly wide and bright. (This is a cosmetic issue not related to the quality of the roof.) We were going to have the flashing painted, but months later, Ralph set someone out to put a few extra slats on top to cover the flashing. Now the edges look as great as the rest of the roof. This shows a really high commitment to satisfying his customers.

They had an honest group of carpenters that came through. I was super impressed. They did it in like three days. They took the section of the roof and they replaced it with the new. So, we never went about having some sort of roof covering. They put in some extra ridge vent for the attic piece and we had them replaced gutters with bigger gutters because we live on a hill. They just did a great job. They did it like a section at a time. They showed up like clock work. They started when they said they were going to start. They were cleaned up and out of here by 3:00 in the afternoon. It's amazing. They were really really impressive. We would use them again if we had a need to. My husband got three quotes and their pricing was fair. Everything was good. There wasn't anything negative about them at all. Their service was excellent.

These guys are the best... I mean the best!  large crew works together as a team to get the job done right and fast.
The owner, Ralph is very friendly and tells you exactly what you are going to get  done.
He brought out the original roof shingles so you could see the color match, and a book as-well.
They found bad wood and replaced everything that needed replacing. 
They do the job right, they get the permits , so you have nothing to worry about.
My new roof looks excellent !

Richmond Roofing is the most professional contractor I've ever dealt with in over 40 years ... the owner, Ralph, was a pleasure to work with and he exudes professionalism every step of the way to a new roof ... he made sure our roof redo was done to current city code and was the most reasonable quote of the 4 that I got ...and not the cheapest ... but worth every dollar charged and then some ... he even modified the roof to prevent future problems with winter ice build up ... great price value relationship for the job done ...
