Food is always fresh and the employees are very helpful.

My wife and I shop at the Mustard Seed Market at least twice a week. The staff is courteous and friendly. They are always willing to help. The produce is always fresh, the meats are well selected. They truly care about the community and supplying a quality food source for our families.

We first contacted Mustard Seed Market (MSM) about 1.5 years before our ceremony. We met with them several times to go over details, get pricing and policy information, and look over the venue, and we were invited to see a wedding reception set-up on a Saturday afternoon as well. After seeing several venues, we chose Mustard Seed because of the menu options, the accomodating and hospitable staff, and options of the space available. We’re a non-traditional couple, and they made us feel very welcome from the start. In planning for the event, (75-80 people,) the kitchen manager Russ Brown, banquet coordinator Paula Cyphert, and wine manager Anthony, were extremely responsive to our needs and helped guide us with the many choices and decisions where needed. We elected to have a short ceremony in the back conference room, and the reception banquet and festiviites (dancing) were held in the front room and bar/lounge area. The day of our reception, the staff was phenomenal and worked with us throughout the evening. Communication was top-notch. The food was excellent. For hors d’oeuvres, they had cheeses that we selected from their store, as well as crackers and grapes waiting for guests as they arrived, then hot appetizers after the ceremony, which included tomato bruschetta, mushroom pate, and miniature quiches. We had signature drinks and later an open bar. For dinner, we chose one of MSM's signature dishes, Chicken Asiago. as an entree, along with bourbon-black pepper salmon, and, as we had an autumn theme event, the vegetarian entrée of butternut squash lasagna. Side dishes included herb-roasted potatoes, grilled vegetables, salad, bread, and beverage stations. We had a wonderful selection of cupcakes that Sarah in the bakery customized for us, from pumpkin cream cheese to lemon to carrot and chocolate. Anthony worked with us to select wines, beers, and made fantastic suggestions for signature drinks that fit our event. Unlike with other venues, we took comfort in the fact that if we ran low on food, beer, or wine, they could be quickly replenished by supplies in the store below. People raved about the food! I cannot stress enough the positive responses on the food that we got from our guests. Multiple people told us that they wished they had food as good as that at their wedding, and a couple of people said they will consider having their reception at MSM also! So often, I think people are used to “wedding food” from the generic banquet centers and hotel ball rooms…. bland, uninteresting, and ordinary. Mustard Seed Market’s food quality, their philosophy of natural and organic ingredients, and extensive gourmet food choices lead to an exceptional banquet. The venue is the second floor of their Solon grocery store, and most of it overlooks the store. We liked it because it wasn’t a “box” like a hotel banquet room, but allowed different spaces for guests to congregate during the evening, including a balcony for guests to enjoy fresh air. Their back conference room was closed off for a private and serene environment for our ceremony. Some guests could sit at bar stools at the bar, others sat at lounge tables in the lounge area, others were on the balcony, and others were on the dance floor or dining area. Maybe this sounds too glowing of a review… we did rack our brains trying to think of a negative about them, but we couldn’t think of one. In short, we could not have been more pleased with Mustard Seed and its staff for our reception. If taste and quality of food is important to you, then Mustard Seed Market should be on your short list for your event. For groups of up to around 150 people for dining, the venue is comfortable and has a unique layout. But most importantly, Russ, Paula, and Anthony and their staff, made our event a success.

The food was fresh, appetizing, beautiful and delicious. Since I needed to serve a group of vegetarians, it was an easy choice with this organization. They are the best!
