 + -1 moreWe had a TERRIBLE experience. We felt Jim Finucan was dishonest and tried to take advantage of the fact that we were new to the home buying process. However, we never worked with another mortgage originator, so we can't say how he compares. I hope they're not all like this. Less than a year after we bought the house we are now thinking about refinancing to get a more favorable deal.
Description of Work: My Realtor recommended we use this mortgage originator. As first time home buyers we went ahead with Jim Finucan because we had no idea what we were doing. Things seemed fine, and we thought we were on the same page until we sat down to sign the papers and he had completely changed the terms of the loan (apparently hoping we wouldn't notice). We went back to the drawing board, and contacted other lenders who gave us better rates. We told Jim and he said he could match that. A week before we were supposed to close on the house we met with him to sign the papers. Once AGAIN the terms were different than what he told us. We ended up agreeing to a second mortgage with a balloon payment after 15 years. Now, we regret it. We'll have to pay back half of that loan at the end of that term, or refinance, which will cost us more money.

Description of Work: WE WORKED WITH JOE THROUGH THE A REALTOR IN PROCESS OF BUYING A NEW HOME. HE WAS OFTEN UNRESPONSIVE TO OUR CALLS. EVEN THOUGH WE WERE PRE-APPROVED BY THIS BANK A MORTGAGE, WHEN WE FOUND A NEW HOME WE COULD NOT REACH JOE. WE FINALLY WENT TO ANOTHER LENDER.
