The limo arrived and the whole thing went downhill from there. Our driver (a nice young lady who tried to be helpful) was dressed in capri type shorts and flip flop sandals. She apologized for this, stating that she didn't have time to run home and put on appropriate dress/shoes for our trip.
When my party entered the limo at our pickup address, it was around 85 degrees outside. Unfortunately, it was AT LEAST 95 degrees INSIDE the limo! The air conditioning simply was not working properly. Our driver even came to the back and tried to get it to work and she was unsucessful. She appologized and we were on our way.
It was SWELTERING in the back of this car and all the ladies were dressed nicely with hair and makeup done up for the event. Unfortunately their makeup couldn't survive the heat. The only relief we could get was in opening the windows (there were only two in the very back of the car). This didn't really help much as far as the temperature but at least it allowed us to breathe! The wind from the highway speed of the car wreaked havoc on the lady's hair and on our paper plates and napkins we had for hors d'oeuvres. Not to mention the incredulous looks from passing cars into our limo.
We attemped to take our minds off of the heat by playing some music. When we tried to get the radio in the rear of the car working, we were unsuccessful. There was essentially no electrical power to the panel that ran the A/C and the radio. When we arrived at the restaurant, the driver let us out. We went in for dinner and at the end we ordered dessert and had the wait staff cut the cake we had taken for our birthday celebration. We ordered coffee.
At 9:40 PM, our driver phoned me on my cell and told me that her company had and quot;added onand quot; another run and that we would have to start wrapping things up and get to the car by 10:00. When I told her what I was told about us using a fifth hour and simply paying for this additional time, she again apologized and said it was out of her control. We therefore were forced to wolf down our cake, cancel the coffee and forget about any after dinner conversation/celebration with our party.
The driver had got the radio to work while we were in the restaurant, but the A/C was still blowing out warm air. At least at 10 PM it was much cooler and despite again having to open the windows on the trip home, we were at least able to breathe back there.
The next day I wrote them and went over all of this. I asked for a refund of HALF of my money in light of the poor conditions inside the car and the cutting short of our dinner. They refused, stating that they had already given me the fifth hour for free and that they had tested the A/C a few days later (after my complaint) and that it was working fine. They blamed us for and quot;letting all the cold air out of the limo) when we got in and blamed us for not knowing how to properly run the controls (even though the driver couldn't even get them to work). He also said that the additional time I had requested was and quot;subject to availabilityand quot; only, and that they had every right to add on a run after ours. I was NEVER told this at all prior to paying for the service.
The manager I spoke to was very dismissive and essentially didn't seem to care about my complaints continually stating that he already didn't charge me for the extra time beyond the four hours and that the A/C worked fine for him later.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
