He's excellent! I'm so glad I was able to find a reputable Slate roof contractor. He's always great about answering when I called, or calling back promptly. He's always on time, and I really appreciate it. It's hard to find roofers in the area who will call back and show up on time. He's one of the biggest competitors in the area, and I love the work he does.
Description of Work
He was originally out to repair my slate roof. He came back in the winter to help prevent damage from ice damming, and put up a new gutter. He also put up copper flashing for me.

Description of Work
Replaced roof and gutters; tuck pointed chimney; new chimney caps; replaced/repaired rotten and water-damaged wood near gutters. Gutters are large, high capacity. Expensive, but seemed very reliable. As part of the estimate, he took pictures of the roof, gutters, chimney and wood damage (we knew we had a lot of damage). Work was done within about 1 week. Work was done fall 2013. No problems this winter 2013-14.

Gabor and Cleveland Slate & Copper are experts in working with tile, slate and copper roofs. They are not cheap but they are an extremely good value. They arrived when the were scheduled and finished the work promptly and expertly. I would recommend them to anyone needing work done on tile, slate and copper roofs.

Replaced 24 tiles that were broken by a gutter cleaner who did not know how to work around roof tiles.

This is the third time we have had them do work on our roof. They are not the cheapest in town, but they as far as we are concerned the best we have had. They are the most perfect. They take photographs before, during and after, so you can actually see what they are up on the roof doing. They are quite responsive when we have a problem, like a leaking roof in the middle of winter. We had about three years earlier another section of the roof have a problem and they literally came out when there was ice and snow, and it was dripping and ruining my kids rooms, my piano had come in while we were out of home and we did not want it to come any further and ruin the floor underneath. Luckily it just fell on our piano and most of it dripped onto it and was absorbed by it. I like there explanation of what they believe the problem to be, what they intend to do about it and very specifically documenting the problem areas with photos. They get up there and they take pictures and you can see what they see and why do they think that is where the problem lies. They are knowledgeable. For calling them up you have to leave a message because they are hands-on. They do not have a separate operator, so you have to leave a message but they do call you back pretty promptly. They try to come out when it is a convenient time for you and them, but they keep you informed if there is any delay.

Cleveland Slate & Copper Inc removed a slate and the main was gutters, and reinstalling ice and water shields, copper wall flashing, reinstalling the slate and adding a new aluminum gutter.

His price was approximately double than the other companies, which was in the $9000 range. He was a very nice man and was very punctual with our business.
Description of Work
Cleveland Slate & Copper, Inc. came out for an estimate probably about a month ago. We just had tiles that needed to be replaced for general upkeep with the roof.

It was a good experience. They came prepared to do an estimate. They brought ladders with them, went up on the roof and took photos that they brought down to show me. They prepared an estimate on the spot. They arrived when they said they would, cleaned up after themselves, and left when they said they would. They also took photos during the process and after the job was completed to show me.

They replaced three gutters, 25 slates, copper flashing around a chimney and a stack, and facia board.

Missed first appointment with me and was late to 2nd appointment. Then said he'd get me the estimate within 2 days and I had to call him to get it 3 weeks later. Ended up being very high as well. With how unresponsive he was in estimate process, wouldn't have gone with him anyway.

Mr. Olah and his crew really know how to repair and preserve a slate roof. My home inspector admired the quality of their work. They are dependable and I am happy to have found this company. I could have installed asphalt or fiberglass shingles but there is nothing like real slate stone shingles for longevity.
Description of Work
Replaced missing, broken slates, repaired leaks, and replaced copper flashings on my 93 year old home. Called back months later and installed snow guards on the slate roof.
