The contractor had the high estimate of the three I talked to, but I did get the figure right away. I couldn't use a lower (Angie's List) estimate because I had to have the engineering work to get a permit. They had a good understanding of Cleveland Heights' requirements, such as the foundation, which made the permits and inspections easy but eliminated several of the ideas we had for the project. The contract did not include a finished floor. I liked all the subcontractors. Ron & Howard were always responsive to my questions. The carpenter left two bloopers, not really obvious, that I didn't pursue because the repair would have spoiled the new work.
