We used Allied Waste or their predecessor for ten years using their specially marked and colored
purchased bags to pay for each trash can. Two weeks ago, when we had no
trash, they left a sticker on our neighbors can that he wasn't bagging
the refuse properly. That got us wondering what was happening. Last week they left a similar sticker on our can. I
called the local company and after waiting a while for their computerized
answering machine I got a ?service? rep. I asked what the problem was
and she didn't have a clue. She asked for my address and said they had
no record of me being a customer.. (They've been picking up my trash for
TEN years.) I told her what the tag said and, after having to check
with a supervisor, she returned and said that as long as I started bagging all loose trash
in the barrel I could continue to pay for the cans the way I always have - by leaving their specially marked bag hanging out from under the lid. They said that has been their policy for three years. Who would have known? They have never communicated with us in the ten years they've picked up our trash.
So I bought more regular trash bags to bag our trash inside the can.
Yesterday was trash day. They stopped. Took the pay bag which cost me $2.50,
threw the lid on the ground and left the full trash can of bagged trash
open to the rain. They left it that way - no note - no explanation.
I switched to Lake Disposal Inc this AM. They seem to be local, very friendly, and service oriented.
