Chad was great right from the beginning. Super prompt and super courteous. The fixtures were ordered seamless and they look great in my master bathroom.

This work was done on a summer home we just purchased. The house was built in 1955 with some additions added later. The home inspection report was very negative about the electrical service in the house. We choose CTE to fix the problems found by the inspector. They were chosen because of the glowing reports we found on Angie's List. Six reports, all grade A with many commendations. We had two estimates done, one by Carlos of CTE and one by another contractor. We were swayed by the Angie's List reports and by Carlos himself. My daughter and family were visiting when he came to the house. My son-in-law, a tradesman himself, was impressed by Carlos, so when the choice was made of a contractor, I choose him with confidence.
The date was set for the work. We figured it would take two days, a Thursday and Friday. We drove 2 hours to the vacation house to make sure we were there before his arrival at 7:30 a.m. He didn't show. I called his phone at 10:15 and got no answer so I left a message. At 12:30 I called again and he answered. He couldn't do the work that day. He apologized.
On Friday, he showed up with a two man crew, Jay and Brandon. He started each of them on some part of the job as Carlos and I went over everything again. He left, not to return, leaving the job to Jay and Brandon. That was OK as previous recommendations mentioned Jay (Jason) as a superior workman. Brandon though had only been on the job a couple weeks and needed more time to do the tasks and needed help from Jay pretty often.
The work seemed to be going well. A lot was accomplished. They worked at least 10 hours. Jay left at lunchtime to get some lunch as well as some electrical supplies needed for the job. I don't know why he didn't have these things on hand. There didn't seem to be any surprise issues that came up. We included Brandon in our own lunch. He was a fine young man, trying to find his way. He is Carlos' son. We were happy to have spent this time with him.
Saturday was a big festival day in our community. We had hoped the work would be done so that we could enjoy the festivities and not have to go back to the house to see how things were progressing. If they had shown up on Thursday as promised this would have been accomplished.
A third worker came on Saturday, Zach. He seemed to be an accomplished electrical worker and the entire job was finished after about 7 hours with the three of them working together. Jay and I did a walk through of the completed job and all seemed to be in order. One outside wire wasn't done the way Carols had told me it would be, but Jay assured me it was done OK. After the crew left I noticed that one of the components of the work was not done. It was not as important as many of the other parts of the job so there shouldn't be any electrical dangers involved from it not being done.
Overall, I felt that the issues raised by the home inspector had been met. The house and garage seem to be safer than they were before.
When the bill came, I was surprised to see that it was over 25% higher than expected. I paid the bill and included a letter to Carlos raising the following issues: 1) disrespect of the customer for not arriving on the scheduled date and not calling to tell me about a delay, 2) the bill being 25% higher than expected, 3) the one part of the job that did not get done, and 4) some dissatisfaction with the outside wire not being done the way he told me it would be done. I assured him that I was not angry with him but disappointed in the things that I have just mentioned in this review.
He has offered to address issue no. 3 on the list above, at no charge. He apologized and made excuses for the items mentioned in issues 1 and 2. I don't really think his excuses are valid, but these things happen when you deal with a contractor. I was hoping and expecting things to be different with him. Nothing was said about issue 4.
If someone reads this review, let me say that the work seems to be done in a satisfactory manner. Carlos deserves another chance, but just be careful. Be aware that there are short-comings involved when dealing with CTE. Perhaps your job will be worthy of an A, but our experience was not. I might or might not ask him back to do more electrical work for me. At this time I don't know any other electrical contractor to rely on in the location of this house.

I contacted CT Electrical Services and spoke with Carlos. He asked me to describe the services I wanted performed and asked some questions regarding the property. He quoted a price over the phone. He then worked with us to find the perfect heater for the property. We ordered the heater and had it delivered. Once it arrived, Carlos scheduled the install. His employee was timely, cleaned up after himself and the work was performed to specification. When I received the invoice it was exactly as quoted. I am very happy and would recommend this company in a heartbeat. Will definately use again.
