Two men arrived at 8:15 in the morning. They left at 10:15. I expected to be charged for 2 1/2 hours work. I had been given an estimate of $90.00 for the first hour and $55.00 per hour for each additional hour, so I expected to pay about $200.00.
But when I got the bill it was for 5 1/2 hours for a total of $361.97. When I questioned the charges I did get a second bill where they had taken off the 1/2 hour, but they still charged me for 5 hours.
The charge per hour turned out to be $124.00. To me, that's pretty expensive for pond cleaning. And the estimate wasn't worth anything. "124 is more than 55."
They did a pretty good job of cleaning, but I don't think it was worth $124.00 per hour. And I think when you ask for an estimate you should be given all the facts so you can make a decision. I don't think I will be using this company again.
"Turner landscaping was asked to clean the pond. We let the client know that it would be 90.00 for the first man hour and then 55 dollars per man hour. With two men onsite for 2.5 hours as the client stated you have 5 man hours. The first hour was 90 and 4 hours at 55. That equals 310 dollars plus tax. The client was given an estimate of 200 to 300 dollars. As the client stated we cleaned the pond and all extras that were needed around the pond. This is typical for a pond the size of the clients. We are a professional company and will not clean a pond half way to stay with in the price a client feels is acceptable."
"Turner landscaping was contacted by (Member name removed) to clean her pond. She did ask for us to contact her before we came out. I did not call her before we stopped out to clean her pond. I take full responsibility for not calling before we came. Once we started cleaning her pond all of the plants were growing out of the pots and in all of the rocks around the pond. We asked (Member name removed) if she wanted all of the plants divided and potted. She said yes so we started to divide and repot her plants. The pond had not been cleaned out for sometime and was full of mud and fish waste. This was more than a small pond cleaning. The job took a lot longer than the initial estimate for the above reasons. We adjusted the waterfall and told (Member name removed) to let us know if the waterfall stopped leaking. We were never updated on the waterfall and if it was still leaking. As for not getting the bill for months. (Member name removed) did not let us know that she did not have a different mailing address than her home address. Our bill was returned several times until we found the correct mailing address. We are sorry (Member name removed) is not happy with the work we preformed but she never called to let us know she was not happy after we preformed the services and to let us make things right."
