Jim from Lindsay Tint came over to take measurements and an estimate which took maybe 20 mins. He is very knowledgable in the different options available and communicates them clearly. He was very honest with the pricing and the estimate came in well under some other local area providers. The actual install took a full business day and went pretty smoothly. He took precautions to protect furniture and walls even though some windows were difficult to get to. A couple weeks later i had issues with window cracking, and he helped me work through the warranty coverage and replacement with the film manufacturer. I would do business with Jim again.

"Thanks Member, it was a pleasure helping you with your window tinting needs. As far as the window cracking goes, it is not a typical occurrence but it can happen if the windows have an existing chip hidden under the framing and/or uneven heating and cooling of the glass due to uneven shading from nearby trees or overhangs. All of which is covered under warranty and the window and film are replaced without a cost to the customer. :)"

I had the work done and all went well or so I thought. It was relatively cold and rainy when the work was done and it took awhile for the tint to dry. However, when they did dry, there were bubbles on the driver and passenger windows that remain today. I contacted Jim Mull on 12/11/2007 and advised him of the issue and stated that it would be OK with me to get them fixed in the spring if it was OK with him and he replied, "Yeah, Spring sounds fine; too cold right now. Jim Sounded good to me and was comforted that he was standing behind his work. On 4/16/2008 I sent an email to set up a time to get the tint fixed and was surprised when Jim Mull replied "Sorry man no time to do it in the next 3 weeks. I am way too busy right now. You got a great deal on a decent tint job. I was willing to help you out and do it for less than I normally charge and you are hassling me about redoing it. Sorry, Like I said I can't even think about taking time to redo because of a few specs. Jim.

"THIS CUSTOMER CONTACTED ME WHEN I WAS DOING MOBILE AUTO TINTING (WHICH I NO LONGER DO DUE TO OVERHEAD EXPENSES). THE FIRST PRICE I GAVE HIM (NORMAL CUSTOMER PRICE) WAS TOO HIGH AND HE ASKED IF I WOULD TRADE SOMETHING OF HIS TO GET A DISCOUNT. I TOLD HIM CASH ONLY AND TOLD HIM TO FIND SOMEONE CHEAPER BECAUSE I BELIEVE MY PRICES ARE RIGHT ON AND WHAT MY WORK IS WORTH. HE CONTINUED PLEADING WITH ME UNTIL I JUST OFFERED TO DO IT AT ALMOST 1/2 OF WHAT I NORMALLY DO A SMALL PICK-UP FOR. DID THE WORK, TOLD HIM NOT TO ROLL THE WINDOWS DOWN AND NOT TO CLEAN THE WINDOWS FOR AT LEAST 7 DAYS DUE TO THE COOLER WEATHER EXTENDING THE DRY-OUT TIME. DIDN'T HEAR A WORD FROM HIM UNTIL 2 MONTHS LATER AND FOR SOME REASON BUBBLES OR SPECKS??? SUDDENLY APPEARED ACCORDING TO HIM. I EXPLAINED TO HIM I NO LONGER DID AUTO TINTING DUE TO MY RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL BUSINESS END WAS VERY BUSY AT THAT TIME AND HE GOT WAY MORE THAN WHAT HE PAID FOR AND I WASN'T ABOUT TO RE-TINT THE WHOLE TRUCK AGAIN FOR FREE. WHEN I LEFT THE TRUCK THE FIRST TIME, THE JOB WAS PERFECT. IN MY OPINION, I BELIEVE HE DAMAGED THE FILM BY ACCIDENT AND WANTED A FREE REDO AT MY EXPENSE. I CAN ONLY BEND SO MUCH FOR CUSTOMERS, BUT REFUSE TO HELP OUT A CON ARTIST LIKE THIS CUSTOMER IS. I HAVE NEVER HAD A ISSUE IN THE 600 OR SO CUSTOMERS I HAVE DONE WORK FOR, SO I KNOW MY WORK IS ABOVE PAR AND NOT WHAT THIS GENTLEMAN STATES. THE AVERAGE PRICE TO HAVE A SMALL PICK-UP DONE IN COLUMBUS IS AROUND $160.00 AND HE COMPLAINED AFTER I HELPED HIM OUT AND DID IT FOR $80.00. SOUNDS PRETTY UNGRATEFUL TO ME. ~JIM MULL"

The tinting went very well, and we have seen at least a 10% reduction (if not more) in our overall heating and cooling bills. Jim was very professional and timely. He showed up when he said he would and completed the work in the time he estimated. We left a key under the mat, and he let himself in and out without incident. I felt very comfortable with allowing him access like that, and I know he took the trust seriously (always a nice attribute when working with a contractor). The only thing I would have to admit is that he didn't mention having to take down blinds and window coverings, which we would have done prior to his visit, but it wasn't a big deal. Had we thought about it, we would have done that prior to him coming but again, not a big deal. He also did a nice job of cleaning up after himself, including disposal of the window tinting. He also left extra information on care and maintenance. We are considering having the rest of our windows/doors tinted as well.
