He told us the underlayment of the roof is better quality than he can buy these days, so he has just done repairs that it doesn't need to be replaced. He is conservative and does not take advantage of us (which seems to be more often the case in my other dealing with contractors). Ted repaired a valley of the roof after ice damage a few years back because another company hadn't done an adequate job after charging $11,000. He did the same work over again, plus more and only charged $3000.
