We felt comfortable with Scott right away on our first visit to his office. (He was on a list of contractors recommended by our architect.) He asked very specific questions about our tastes and desires in order to accurately provide a quote that would reflect our desires in trim and finishing for the house. (In the end there were parts of the quote where what we eventually choose was below what was budgeted and some was over.) But the original estimate of cost was very close. Once Scott was officially hired and work was began it was like we became family. Scott was very good in providing us a list of things that we would have to decide and when he would need it to keep the house on schedule. We had a few hurdles where we had to work with the architect during the process when we found something just wouldn't work. Scott was great at devising a solution and discussing withe the architect. We had no first floor walls that had second floor walls over them to run HVAC up. So 2 runs had to be found without sacrificing the layout and function of the living quarters. Our second floor landry closet ended up not being big enough for today's laundry machines so Scott and the architect worked to find a way to get the room and keep the flow of the space. If there was a day and I went to the house and Scott was not there he would get t here if he was needed to answer a question (which was rare). I remember we had to have a discussion on the placement of the kitchen island as it was designed and had to fit in around a house support (that is hidden in a column) and it still had to line up with other lines around the kitchen. The first go round did not but Scott was able to see what I was pointing out and design an modification to the island that would fix the issues and keep the house structure out of the way. The crew that worked for Scott were able to answer most questions or contact Scott for a quick answer. Scott and the architect helped us get a full size refrigerator into a space that is masked to make it look like we have a counter depth fridge. The bathroom and kitchen cabinet layout was drawn up by Scott to meet what I envisioned and to make use of all available space. Scott's suggestions of drawers with deep sides are awesome (rather than just having large faces and small drawer sides or just a multitude of small drawers). After having them I would miss that in another kitchen. We had found some vanities that would perfectly fit the space in the kids bathroom, but Scott was able to build us cabinets for the space that actually gave us quite a bit more storage and for the same basic price. Scott an crew were very thorough throughout the whole process. T-Square Builders would keep sub-contractors to schedule as best as I think anyone could. They would notice small blemishes (that I had to be shown to see) and repaint. T-Square Builders built the custom cabinets in our kitchen which we had stained to match our mantle. I know this took some time to match/blend/try on the wood, but it now looks great. I was always kept up to date on the project status, what was ahead and what was behind. Scott even helped me to find people/companies for things that were not in his part of the contract for the house. Once the house was completed we had Scott out to check on a few things we noticed (even a year later) and he was always happy to come do that for us. And he was our advocate to supplier if he agreed that we were wronged. He is still there should we need him. What we liked most about T-Square Builders, Scott and crew. 1. Communication with T-Square Builders was outstanding. I could email any time of the day and got a quick response almost always early the morning of the next business day. My calls were frequently answered without the need for me to leave voice mail. And when I did leave voice mail I got a quick response. 2. Willingness to be flexible with newer technology we were interested in. Scott would help us research anything he was not himself an expert in and gave sound advise. For examples we considered SIPs framing, but did not end up using it. We did install a geothermal system and when it came to how to best use that hot water for use in the house Scott was able to help us install a solution that worked best for our situation. 3. The crew were always nice and polite and I felt comfortable that there would be no embarrassing situations or foul language when our young children joined us on the job site. 4. Willingness to look into contractors that he had never worked with (plumbing, HVAC, and electrical company my dad worked for) and help us compare cost and services. We also brought in our own person for installing the home security system and Scott was good on providing me with dates when they could do that. He was also willing to let us paint and such if we wanted to save a little (which we did not do). 5. He did not try to persuade us to the most expensive options on things. And when asked he helped us weigh our choices. 6. Flexibility in meeting with us. There were limited days were I could be at the house during the work day if needed. But Scott would accommodate those and a few times came up to where I worked (45 minutes away). And a few times stayed at his office late so I could swing in on my way home. 7. Being younger first time home builders Scott never tried to say anything like and quot;well, if you knew more or had my experience you would do something this wayand quot;. We felt he listened to what we said and never belittle our experience. Although we did learn a few things along the way from Scott. There are so many small details that go into building a house that is it hard to give a lot of specifics. T-Square Builders was a perfect fit for us. They were flexible, good at communicating, stayed on budget, and very detail oriented (perfectionist like). We are so happy in our home and would hire Scott again. (In fact we hope to soon to finish our basement.)

This project effected both of our bathrooms in the sleeping area. Scott's crews worked with us to coorindate phases of the remodeling so we alway had access to a toilet, shower/tub, and sink, etc. During the project several unexpected challenges had to be addressed. Scott worked with us to find solutions and kept the project moving. The completed bathrooms look great.

Scott's and his crew did a excellent job in redesigning our linen closet to maximize the storage space. They did a great job with the staining and finishing of the doors and trim. They paid attention to the details with the all of the trim work.
