We are so happy with our new patio! Lucas was fantastic to work with, from planning clear through completion of our project, maintaining constant oversight of the project and communication with us. The quality of work and attention to detail is truly outstanding!

Initial contact and performance with company was great - both with the fencing (Elite Fence) and patio (FX). A sales rep came out and explained everything and showed us a well designed sketch for our patio. We had our fence installed first and then our patio at a later date. They handled all permits, utility marking and applications to the HOA.
Our experience began falling apart with our patio. First, when the rep was out he noticed an ill cut section of our fencing and took a picture and said he would make sure it was corrected - it never was. Second, I believe they hired subcontractors to complete the patio. Our contract said there would be wire mesh laid - there was none. We had selected our colors and stamp design, but the contractor didn't use the correct one (apparently they had two different stamps with the same name...). We wanted a paver look with the stamped concrete, but the "paver" was missing. I will say they company was VERY responsive to the error and the contractor came up with another option to tearing it all out - cutting in the lines with a saw. The end result was even better than what we had initially wanted. As for the wire mesh, the contractor said he had used a special concrete with metal fibers in it which made the wire mesh unnecessary. OK fine. This was completed in late August 2014.
Come April 2015 after the winter thaw - I noticed major cracking on one of the edges of the concrete and it was flaking off, too. I'm assuming the sealant was coming off as well, since it looked as if the "color" of the concrete was coming off and we have white spots where it should be grey. We did not use any salt or snow melt on the patio during the winter as I know that it is a major killer to any surface. The contract said no warranties on stamped concrete, but I still needed this corrected. I contacted them to see what we can have done since I wanted a repair to look seamless and they had the color of the concrete we used on file. After leaving several messages and no call back, my husband finally got a hold of someone and was told they were busy but someone would be in contact with us. The whole summer passed and no contact. In the meantime we had decided we would like to finish enclosing our yard. Around Sept/Oct I contacted them on their website and mentioned the issues we tried to have fixed in April and then the extra work we wanted done with our fencing. I received an email response that Brian (the owner) was out of town but he would put the message on his desk and he would be in contact with us about the project. I still have not received that call.
I now regret not having them dig up the entire patio and completing the project completely. I will never recommend them to anyone based upon this experience. Apparently, unless you do not have a larger $ project they could care less about you - let alone a previous customer who is having issues with their product.

Everything went smoothly, Craig our rep was very attentive and even came back the day after install to see if everything was how we wanted it to be. Fence is good quality and we have no complaints. Would use again.

This has been the worst experience for a company that is decently rated on Angies List.  I bought my railing through HomeDepot whom contracts out the job out to OutdoorFX.  The OutdoorFX sales rep came over and gave me the price which was perfectly fine and quoted me the amount. I ordered the best railing so they said it would take 6 weeks to special order and install which was normal.  From there it has been all down hill and now its 14 weeks later (Yes 14 not 6) and today it got installed.  The worst job I have ever seen and feel like I am going to fall through the railing if I lean on it.
I called weeks out from install and they never returned my call.  Every day for a week I kept calling with no answers.  I finally went to Home Depot who did the same thing.  Finally after 2 more weeks of constant calling they finally returned my call and said they forgot to order the materials and it would take an additional 6 weeks.  Again called and called with no avail and having to go back to HomeDepot to have them force OutdoorFX to call me.  After finally talking to them again they pushed back and said I didnt need certain posts because it wouldnt look right because they also had originally under-priced the job.  Then said they wouldnt warranty the pieces if I did have the railing on the porch.  So I lost 2 feet of Railing on my front porch and said they would take a few dollars off the quote.  I asked for an itemized quote again but they refused to give that to me.  I still dont have a final price even after they keep saying they will send it to me.
Today they put in the railing and sadly I couldnt be here so my niece had to sign off that it was completed.  Big Mistake!!!  The absolute worst job.  Post were not screwed in properly, railing shakes, screws missing to in front posts for support.  Looks like they did not have right brackets so they just cut the brackets to make them fit.  When I returned home and saw the work I called the sales rep immediately and surprisingly he answered.  After telling them the situation they said the will call me right back to fix.  They never returned my call and I keep calling.  Called HomeDepot and they kept calling them as well again.  Still no return calls.   Very un-Professional company and wonder how they even remain in business.
So at this point the railing is up and looks good from far away, but up close is a different story.  I am scared to even lean on it.  Supposed to have a 30 year warranty but If I cant get them to put it in correctly wonder if that even matters.  I will be filing a complaint with HomeDepot.  This should have been an easy job and looks like they had decent reviews on Angies List but I guess companies change.
If anything changes I may change or update my review but at this point I would stay away.

They were very quick about getting to our house review all of our options and provide an estimate. Craig, our rep was very friendly throughout the entire process.  The installers were very knowledgeable and offered their opinion based on experience when something would come up that required a decision during installation.  Craig always followed up and even came out to help bring extra material inside the house as I instructed the installers to leave it behind just in case we should need any of it.

I thought the price was good. You definitely got a lot for your money. They did a great job. It took them about 3 months, so a little longer than we would have liked. There were a few workers that while the boss was away they weren't being very efficient. He had to replace them. Other than that, it was really nice, it looks good, and it was a good price. They did clean up once we got after them because the workers were smoking frequently on the job and they were leaving their cigarette butts in my yard.

I'm writing this review to update my previous one where I had encountered issues on my fence. I have changed my rating to a B. I filed a complaint resolution through Angie's List and was very pleased with the response I have received from Outdoor-FX/Elite Fence. The status still shows pending therefore I couldn't edit that particular review but wanted to get this update completed. Bryan Critser called me upon his return from out of town when he discovered my complaint. He was not aware that there were any problems. He indicated to me that he was going to come to my home to see first hand what the issues were and also bring an installation manager to view the fence. He called me back with a date of Jan. 22, 2014 and arrived on that date at the time he specified. My salesman, Craig, was at my friends house where Rick had issues also and they corrected those for him as well. Craig did apologize to me for not responding which I appreciated. Weather being what it has been here in Ohio, I was told they would correct the problems when weather permits and yesterday I returned home to find they had been to my home and the fence is fixed. Bryan took my issues seriously and got everything taken care of professionally. I am so glad that he called when he did and we worked through this unforturnate situation. I would recommend this company and this fencing as it is a nice product. I called Bryan to thank him for his punctuality and handling of my complaint. I am very happy, so is my friend and I can't wait to begin landscaping. :)
Thanks again Bryan!!

We got bids from 4 different fencing installers, and we chose to go with Outdoor FX. We felt the quality of their materials were extremely high. We loved working with Lucas Griener, who bid the job and oversaw the installation. He was always professional and returned our messages promptly. The crew that actually installed the fence turned out to be a subcontractor. They were also terrific to work with. Our only concern was that the subcontractor began to struggle with punctuality at the end of the project. They promised to arrive on a certain day to finish the job, and they didn't show up. They also didn't return phone calls for several days. When I called Lucas to explain the situation, he promptly called the subcontractor and arranged for them to come finish the job.
While we weren't thrilled with the subcontractor's punctuality and communication at the end of the job, we were very happy with the way Lucas handled the situation. In all, we are happy with the way the project went. Our fence is gorgeous, and Outdoor FX did a terrific job with it. We have gotten so many compliments on the fence!

They had pretty good customer service, especially compared to the other people we had. Their sales people were straightforward. They completed the job when they said they would complete it. They took a design that my husband had made and they gave their ideas and made the design better. The only thing that I could possibly say that was negative is that one day the estimator was late, but it was just one time. He apologized, and said he was late due to getting his kids to school. it was not a big deal at all. We really liked him. We are really happy with the job. We know a guy who knows a lot about building, and he said that they used even better products than the acceptable standard. We were really glad that they used good products.

The weather, material availability, and timing were all issues, however Outdoor FX was above average in returning phone calls. They are easy to work with, and had several good ideas that we included in our plan. Landscaping was excellent, Concrete work was average, Deck work was excellent.

We found Outdoor FX at the Home and Garden Show in March 2011, and asked to be contacted for an appointment. We originally had in mind to remove our deck entirely and install a paver patio. Brian met with us and provided great designs and estimates. Since our yard is on a slope, and much of the materials (and expense) would be in the retaining walls, we modified the design to remove and restructure half of our very large deck, and add steps down to a smaller patio.

The design Brian provided was exactly what we were looking for. The work started on time, and the workers were amazing - they started at 7:30 am and worked until 6:00. We had an outdoor electrical outlet that was accidentally overlooked during our discussions, but Brian had an electrician here right away to relocate the outlet and the work was completed on schedule.

The deck and patio are beautiful and we are very satisfied with the quality of work. Brian was very responsive to any questions or follow-up, and we would definitely use them again.

The work was good. Very professional. They cleaned up. We had to call them back and they replaced a couple of plants with no problems. They suggested replacing the plants at a later time due to heat. They redid the plans several times to match our budgets and requirements. I would defiinatley work with them again.

The end product was satisfactory, but the entire process was extremely slow & difficult. The sales person was a "yes" man, but never delivered without many reminder phone calls as weeks passed. The engineer was helpful, but let many things fall through the cracks. When asked why some plants were left off the material list he responded "I got tired of typing". The retaining wall & paver patio installation went well, except it was built using the inside design measurement as the outer dimension, shortchanging the entire patio 9" of depth. They readily extended the seat wall in exchange for that loss of square footage & the need to rebuild the wall 9" further out. The paver patio looks fine, except there was not enough silica joint sand to fill all the joints. When they returned to finish, they used children's play sand, which is lighter than silica & floats out of the joints when it rains. The landscaping crew did not follow the planting design, forgot 5 shrubs, & damaged the main tree.

Initially, the job went very well. The real issue we had was after the job was done and we had already paid for the work. One of the boards used for the railing had a chunk missing, and it looked horrible. So I called to see if someone could come out and replace it. I received a message back stating that someone would be out right away. Then, a month passed, and no one had replaced the board. So I called again, and was told that something had happened but was assured that it would be taken care of right away. Unfortunately, I had to keep calling and this went on and on for about 3-4 months until someone finally came out and replaced it. It didn't take him much time to replace the board, so I can't figure out why it took months to resolve. Also, he was extremely rude and made a very snide comment to me that in essence I had ruined his weekend. We had planned on hiring this company again to do other work, but after what occurred, we definitely would go with another company.

They were WONDERFUL! Were on time, gave a fair estimate, and the completed work is great! And they arranged all permits and utility markings. The fence is beautiful and when we told them that the bottom of our yard is prone to flooding they built the fence up a bit to accommodate. Very professional and great workmanship.

SPEED IS MORE IMPORTANT AT LAWNSCAPES THAN QUALITY WORK. TRASHED MY LAWN SEVERAL TIMES AND WOULDN'T TAKE CARE OF THE DAMAGE. THE OWNER IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DEAL WITH. ONLY AFTER I MADE A DAMAGE REPORT TO THE FRANKLIN COUNTY SHERIFF DID THE OWNER COME INSPECT THE DAMAGE. THEN HE DID NOTHING.
Response from Outdoor-FX Inc
"IT IS LAWNSCAPES'' POLICY TO REPAIR ANY DAMAGES THAT MIGHT OCCUR DURING SERVICE. THE CUSTOMER''''S YARD WAS ON A STEEP SLOPE AND WHEN WET CAN CAUSE THE MOWERS TO SLIP. THIS MEMBER IS A TRAVELING SALES PERSON AND RETIRED SHERIFF. HE WAS VERY INFLEXIBLE ON MEETING TIMES AND UNPLEASANT TO WORK WITH. HE WAS A CUSTOMER WITHOUT COMPLAINTS FROM SEP.1998 UNTIL JUNE 2003. LAWNSCAPES MADE EVERY EFFORT TO FIX THE YARD TO HIS SATISFACTION."
