We're installing a paver patio and needed a plate compactor as part of the job. At the last minute we realized that we need a rubber mat for the plate compactor so as not to damage the installed pavers. I called several other places, and all the compactors with matching rubber mats were currently rented. JD's was also rented. Since it was getting late on a Friday afternoon, I asked the gentleman on the phone (who turned out to be the manager!) if he knew of any other places that I might have a rubber mat. Sensing my desperation, he offered to pull a unit from his sales floor stock and turn it into part of his rental fleet. I gratefully accepted.
I'm sorry to say that I can't remember the manager's name, but suffice to say he went above and beyond in my mind. He saved the day for us!
Further, when I went to pick up and drop off the unit, everyone I dealt with was professional and friendly. They explained how the machine operated, and told me some dos and don'ts. Overall a great experience. Suffice to say I will be using JD Power for all our rental needs in the future - it turns out they're an authorized Stihl dealer as well, so they can work on my chainsaw and weed eater if needed. Bonus!
