I am so happy we were able to work with Cooley Custom Cabinetry for our kitchen remodel and Scotch room project. I have always heard very positive things about Cooley, so my expectations were very high. I was not disappointed! Due to the slowdown in the building industry, many cabinet companies in Columbus have experienced financial difficulties. Cooley Custom Cabinetry provided us with proof of their financial stability which was a very important first step. I f you do not go with Cooley, make sure to check out the financial stability of your company!
I met with Steve Cooley who spent at least two months with me working on the design for both spaces. He was extremely patient and used a professional design program so I could easily understand the plans. I made many design change requests as I decided on my appliances and worked through my ideas for the perfect kitchen. Cooley Custom Cabinetry did not charge me for these changes and Steve Cooley was always happy to make these changes for me.
Cooley offers many options - door styles, trims, corbels, etc. which we reviewed and selected in their nice showroom in Plain City. They are able to make anything you could possibly want.
Steve Cooley always returned my e-mails within the same day - if not immediately. He was very professional, respectful and courteous - as are all of the employees of Cooley Custom Cabinetry. I could tell they all wanted me to have the kitchen of my dreams.
Once we finally settled on the design, finish and door styles, Steve Cooley provided pricing. The pricing is in line with other high end custom cabinet makers - which is high - but at least with Cooley, you definitely get what you pay for. We went totally custom with white painted cabinets. I know they can also offer a lower price range by combining custom with pre-made cabinets.
We used Tom Yontz Builders to tear out our old kitchen and then Cooley employees installed the cabinetry. It was a big job and they spent about 10 days installing the kitchen cabinets and Scotch room shelving. Their installers were extremely precise and very careful working in our home. They used lasers to set the cabinetry and our granite installer said Cooley did great prep work so their counter tops went in easily.
The only thing I would have done differently would be to make sure the electricians knew exactly what we needed before we installed the cabinetry. We had to cut some of the wood after installation to make the lighting work.
The look and quality of both the kitchen and the Scotch room are fabulous. I have authorized Cooley to share pictures of our home with any potential clients. I love the soft close, self closing doors and drawers in the kitchen. And they added special stoppers to the hinges so the painted cabinets won't get chipped. If someone opens the door too quickly it won't be able to bump the other cabinet.
I know I painted a glowing review, but Cooley Custom Cabinetry deserves it! I don't think I am an easy person to impress. We have our own small business and provide great customer service, so I always expect the same from others. I highly recommend Cooley Custom Cabinetry for any kitchen, wine cellar, library or any other fine wood working needs.

What a relief to have one phone number for the designer, manufacturer and installer. They were perfect! And I didn't have to worry about what would happen if there was any sort of problem (you know, the manufacturer says it was the installers fault and vice versa). But with Cooley there is no need to worry. Their workmanship and attention to detail is second to none. So for less than a $1000 difference from a cabinet reseller or big box store I got completely custom cabinets from a local business. If I could give them and A+ I would. I see a page of happiness in their future!

From the initial meeting to the finished project, we were impressed with the attention to detail and the quality workmanship exhibited by this company. Every attempt was made to accomodate our design specifications, even when we proposed changes to the original plan. There were a few glitches, as there always are with a project of this size, but every issue was resolved quickly and to our satisfaction. Company personnel were very approachable and responsive. We plan to use this company again for a remodeling of our bathrooms. They are honest, reliable, conscientious, and provide quality work.
