Grandview Mercantile recommmended the I call Big Darby Restoration, although they referred to them as Fabric to Finish. I had a antique metal park bench with peeling paint. I suspected that the paint had lead in it due to its age, so I wanted it professionally refinished. I spoke to John on the phone and explained the situation. He said that it should be no problem, but he wanted to take look at the piece before he could give me an estimate. After checking out the piece, he estimated the cost at between 600 - 800 due to the detailing of the bench and the added cost of handling lead paint. I also wanted him to make me a cushion. I told him that I was in no hurry to have it finished. About 4-6 weeks later, John called to say that the bench was finished and he could drop it off that same day if I was a available. He delivered the bench at no extra charge. It looked beautiful. I am very happy with his work. I am so satisfied that I plan on having him refinish an antique buffet that sustained water damage.
