I initially interviewed several realtors that were referred to me. My home and property were quite unique, so when Don shared with me some specifics about my neighborhood (and I don't mean comps) and told me what needed to be done to get the most out of my property, it became clear to me that he knew what he was talking about and that he has the experience to back that up. I walked away from the other realtors who only wanted to tell me good things to get my business, went with my gut, and chose Don without hesitation, and I am so happy I did.
Don did a walk through of my home and was very honest about his expectations based on the home as it was at the time.  He told me what he believed needed to be improved upon and why, and the difference that it would make in his suggested listing price alone.  I initially hadn't planned to, but we did the work, and I called Don back a few months later at which time we listed the house/property for sale.  I went with his suggested asking price, which seemed to be realistic enough to attract potential buyers.  
We had 12-15 showings scheduled during the first 3 days on the market.  After 2 days and 2 offers (+ 2 others interested in writing up an offer contingent on the sale of their home), we entered into contract at above asking price.  The inspection happened quickly and it was clear that the buyer had unrealistic expectations, so Don terminated the contract on my behalf and had us back in contract again with another buyer within 30 minutes, also above asking price.  The process went smoothly from start to finish with both contracts in my opinion, not because there were no issues along the way, but because Don and his team shielded me from that stress by making things happen behind the scenes and keeping me informed.  Don's communication with me was outstanding.  He was quick to reach out to the appropriate party to discuss concerns regarding inspections, negotiations, financing issues, etc, and never dropped the ball.  We closed last week.
I needed someone to be honest with me about what to expect, experienced enough to give me direction and insight through every step of the process, and aggressive enough to go to bat for me throughout negotiations, inspections, etc. taking a lot of the stress off of my shoulders.  Don Shaffer did that for me and I highly recommend his services as a result.
