I hired Accessible Renovations to remodel an apartment above my business. This involved removing walls, dealing with 3 different ceiling heights, and creating a free floating counter bar that seperates the dining/kitchen area from the living room. This apartment is in a very old building and I had my doulbs going into the project about how things would turn out in the end. Well, the end result was amazing. I am impressed with the attention to detail from Matt lee and all his crew. The carpenters, dry wallers, finishers, and painters masterminded the blending of 3 seperate rooms into a beautiful open space area that is very functional, as well as appealing to the eye.

First of all it was for my mother-in-law, we had to put it around to get her into the house, she is wheel chair bound now. We went to the ability center for starters. They suggested a number of people whom I called. I looked up Accessible Renovations and they seemed to have one or two recommendations, which seemed pretty decent. We called them and we liked the guy. But we were little bit concerned about the price, however the special number had to be treated this way and that way, fire hazard and all that stuff. I was talking with someone else who had been around who said that is not a bad price; that is not normal lumber from the lumber yard; that was highly treated. He said I might have got the bargain there. Especially the work was beyond reproach. In terms of price we were pretty satisfied. We had a concern in the beginning because there is a time element involved; I mean it takes time to do all that; you forget about that. When you think of people charging $50 to $60 for an hour for anything; I mean when we call a plumber they charge $50. Anyway, it turned out nice for me; I think you look part of what has been said previously by people so, hopefully, you can trust people.
Description of Work: I used the services of Accessible Renovations. They built in a ramp.

They did a very good job. We were very pleased with the workmanship, prices and professionalism. My wife is very particular about having the house accessible to her from her wheelchair. She has little use of her hands. Mr Lee worked very closely with her and the subcontractors to make sure her needs were met. To a man (or woman) the contractors he used did high quality work and were very courteous. We invited most of them to our open house in September. We passed all our inspections with flying colours and received high praise from friends, relatives and the people who helped finance much of the project (the local Board of Developmental Disabilities.) We recommended them highly to friends and the local center for independent living (The Ability Center of Greater Toledo). We have plans to use them again this summer for a front porch and other small projects.
Description of Work: Renovated bathroom and bedroom to make them handicap accessible. Removed interior wall to combine two bedrooms into one. Widened three doors, installed automatic door opener, installed breakfast shelf, etc. Built deck and ramp on rear of house. Built large shed for storage and work place.
