Steve Pope showed up the first day about a 1/2 hour late for the estimate, When he finally arrived, I told him what we had planned for the kitchen and talked about the possible need to put new breakers in the existing box. Steve went over everything and even checked the supply for our condo from the outside. I informed Steve that I was a member of Angie's list and would be making a report on our experience. Steve wrote up an estimate of $720 to do this work. In his estimate, he made no mention of improving the breakers. Steve was to supply all the wiring, sockets, switches and whatever was needed for the project. He asked us to let him know when the job was ready to be done. We notified Steve when the walls were all down so that he could come and easily do the work and be gone. Steve made an appointment for 3 days later to come do the work, he was to spend the day and was to arrive at 9 a.m.. All construction stopped while we waited for Steve to make his way back. On our appointed day, Steve was running late, arrived late by more than 3 1/2 hours at 12:50p.m., did not call, but did email. He arrived empty handed and came to "look at what the job needed". He had no supplies to do the job. He was on the phone constantly with his "partner" about some lady that had just had her breaker box upgraded and her washer and dryer were not working. He argued that it was not his fault and that she would have to pay additional for him to come out. Very unprofessional, made me a little leery of dealing with him. My contractor stopped by to see how things were going and noticed that things were not going... he offered to pick up any supplies that Steve might need to expedite things. So, my contractor ran out to get the supplies that Steve needed to do the job, of course, this is on my dime. Steve took the opportunity to go back and repair the ladies breaker box, he left at 2:35 p.m.. He did not return until 5:30 p.m., put a few holes in the board on the walls, ran some wires through those holes, put in three boxes, tore out some old wire and told me to call him when the dry wall was up, he would come and finish the job. He also told me to have my contractor tack done some of the wiring, he didn't have supplies to do that. He left at 7:40 p.m. He did not clean up his mess. There were pieces of wire everywhere, dust and pieces of wood and sawdust all over my kitchen. He had used some of the contractors tools and they were just left in the middle of the floor. I called him in about another week, most of the drywall work was completed and the contractor had put on the final 'mudding'. Again, we waited this time 4 days. Steve came out, this time only about 1 1/2 hour late. He started to connect things, received a phone call, was talking about some "government" job that required a permit or they wouldn't get paid... he left my condo went to his van and was gone for about a hour... came back, still on the phone... finished his connecting, I paid him with a check, minus the money for parts and he left before noon. Again, a mess, I cleaned it up and was glad this was the last I would see of him. Next day, my contractor notices that some of the sockets are new and some are old, they are paired together and impossible to match with a cover...some of the plugs have the ground hole on the bottom and some on the top. Steve did not connect the light for the kitchen (which was fine with me). As he looked further, he noticed the wire "pig tail" for the dishwasher was gone....entirely, Steve had removed it from the wall, this was the wire he pulled out. The only connection for the dishwasher was on a switch for the garbage disposal.. I emailed Steve, no response. I called Steve, no response. I emailed him again, no response. I finally emailed him and made clear my intension that he repair this problem or I would have to take further action. This time I received a response. He stated that the dishwasher was not in our contract and he wished more money to repair it. I told him removing the we was not in our contract either, but he did it. He agreed to come out and repair this. He ran a wire from a circuit down the wall and out a hole, no cover place not niceties, just wire, put electrical tape on the bare portions of the wire and warned me it is "hot". This is the last I saw of him. If I could give him a lesser grade than an "F", I would. I do not recommend that anyone use this company/person/business, ever. I think he is unprofessional, uncaring about his work, unsafe and should have his license suspended until he can pay attention to what he is doing and can perform in a safe manner. This guy is dangerous.
