The gentleman that came out could not have been nicer! I felt at ease with him and he seemed very competent. Cleaning was done quickly and at the price quoted which i appreciated.

Our wooden floor had several ugly marks and the area in the kitchen had many areas that were worn or slightly damaged. I first received two estimates on refinishing the entire floor (was told spot repairs impossible as there were no separations between the rooms). The estimates: $4600 and $5900. Bill came and we discussed several possibilities. I had no extra boards and the particular flooring was no longer made. He was able to find boards but they were a shade off. He told us he could remove boards from closet, and replace the damaged boards in the middle of the large central room. He would also sand the kitchen and use a more resilient finish. My husband and I decided to take a chance. IF the result was not what we wanted we would have to redo the whole floor area. I didn't watch. Four hours later the damaged boards had been replaced, the closet floor put back in order along with molding, entire kitchen area sanded and sealed. When everything was dry, we had a restored floor that cost less than 10% of what we thought would be necessary. Bill was courteous, extremely knowledgeable, punctual. This was a job that required skill and patience. Thanks Bill.

I removed a carpet  that had been over the hardwood floor in my bedroom for decades. I hadn't planned on getting the floor refinished but my friend encouraged me to do so while the room was empty--even though it looked "ok enough" to me, I took the advice. I didn't think I'd find someone who could do it that wek, so that it would be done for another friend helping put in the new baseboards. I called Bill on Sunday based on these reviews, he quoted me a price of $3 a square foot, and showed up Tuesday at 9:30 AM, sanded down the floor and put the first coat of polyurethane on it by 12:30. There are some fairly deep stains in the wood and a couple of deep scratches, but Bill had explained to me before that some of these wouldn't come out without risking warping the floor. Bill came back the next two days early so he could be in before I had to leave for work to put the second and third coat on. When I came home Thursday I was blown away. After that final coat--he buffed the floor down as well and it's really beautiful. It definitely is still an old floor, but I was pleased with how well they did the work. I would definitely recommend and have already to some friends.

Bill was great from start to finish.  Communication was returned in a timely manner.  He was prompt in scheduling to come over for an initial estimate.  We worked thru a number of different options for unfinished and pre-finished hardwood.  He ended up providing me with three separate estimates for different types of materials so we could choose which one fit our needs.  The total project start to finish lasted two weeks which lined up with how long he initially estimated it would.  They moved our heavy furniture and kept the dust to a minimum.  I would use Bill again and am happy to provide a positive review for him.

Contacted Bill and set up an estimate. It worked out well as he was doing a job right around the corner from me. He swung out and got the estimate to me within 24 hours (This was on Friday the 12th). He had a cancellation and could fit me in starting the 22nd. I drug my feet a little because I was trying to decide if I could fit everything in my budget as I had some other projects going on and was still waiting on two more estimates. I called him Friday the 19th and he had taken another job but still was willing to fit me in. They finished on time and everything looks great!

Bill came out to my house for an estimate with two days of my initial contact with him. A day later, I had a written estimate for the job. I was able to have the work done just a week after that, and the job spanned across 4 days. The first day was dedicated to sanding and patching. On day two, the sanding was finished and the stain was applied. On the morning of day 3 the first coat of poly was applied, and another was applied later in the afternoon. On the final day, the floors were polished before a final cost if poly was applied. Bill and his partner, Bob, were very punctual and hardworking. I could not be there during the job, and both of them were very professional and trustworthy as my house was exactly as I had left it. When it comes time to maintain the floors again, I won't even bother contacting someone else. Bill gives a very fair price, especially for the quality of work. You won't find a more skilled and professional craftsman to bring new life to you floors.

We decided at the last minute to have the carpets removed from the 1st floor because my mother-in-law was having a hard maneuvering her wheel chair on them. But we needed to have them done before she came home from rehab at the end of the week. I called The Floor Guys to see if they could work me in--fortunately for me, they had just had a cancellation, and we scheduled a start time of Thursday 9 a.m. He suggested a place  where I could pick out the material I wanted installed. They had a laminate flooring in stock that almost perfectly matched my hardwood floors. Three people showed up at 9 a.m. on Thursday, right on time. They came in, worked well together, and had the job done in 2 days. It was amazing. I love it when people enjoy their work -- they came in, joked around with each other, but at the same time they were all business, they knew the jobs they each needed to do and got the work done. They cleaned up; and helped me move the heavy furniture back. They were wonderful, and I would absolutely use them again and recommend them to my friends.

In comparison with the compitition The Floor Guy gave me a great price.  He came in and gave us the estimate and then said that he would stay in touch.  He called every week to let me know that he had not forgotten about me, until he was able to come out and do the work.  The cleaner he used was wonderful, and he even left me with some.  He told me to use it and if I am not happy with the results then to call him and he would come back and redo the work for free.  It took him 3 hours to do the work, but it looks brand new!  He was very clean, very neat, and showed up exactly when he said he would.  I was very happy with his work.

They were wonderful.  They promptly showed up both for the quote and to do the work.  Very professional.  The project was completed in less than one day and the floors looked great.  Wehn we ran into a problem with stairnosing (I bought the wrong product), they found one for me and installed it.  Would definitely recommend to others and would use again for future projects.

Bill did a great job.  He did an excellent job of installation and was on time everyday.  He always consulted with us and made several suggestions that improved the appearance of the floor.  He worked with his brother and niece and they finished the job on time and we could not be happier.  He and his brother were always professional.  We are planning on have him do several more projects.

We highly recommend him.

We hired Bill to refinish the upper level of our newly purchased home. The floors are about 50 years old and had a lot of wear and tear. Bill sanded the floors and was able to remove nearly all of the scratches and discoloration. We opted to skip the stain and go for the natural finish which is 3 coats of polyurethane. He worked through the weekend and was able to finish the job a day sooner than expected. We are very happy with the results. The floors look wonderful and Bill was easy to work with, friendly and knowledgable. We are planning to use his services again to refinish the kitchen and living room areas.

Bill was one of two contractors I had quote the job to add wood to our first level great room. It needed to match our existing wood and Bill gave a great recommendation for how to make a transition since the existing wood was 7 years old and the new wood, although the same exact box # from the manufacturer, was a little lighter.
Bill allowed me to remove the old carpet and do the molding myself to help keep costs down. He came in, did a great job and was very friendly. He communicated quickly when any decisions needed made and we love our new floor!
I have another project coming up in  a few weeks and absolutely will ask Bill if he can help!

Bill came out and provided an overall assessment as to the scope of
work, accurately estimated the costs and managed my expectations
extremely well.  He did the work in a very professional manner, it looks
great and he was very affordable.
I would recommend "The Floor Guy"  (Bill) without reservation.  Quality workman and nice to work with.

First of all, I was appreciative that Bill provided an itemized estimate for the total work.  Based on this itemization, I was able to make the decision to tear out the existing flooring myself and only have him install the new flooring in order to save a few dollars.  The other contractors I received estimates from refused to do this.
Bill began the work on Monday, and completed it on a Friday after working for 4 days (he notified us ahead of time that he was unavailable on Wednesday).  Based on what I heard from other people who had flooring installed, he wasn't the quickest installer, but the quality was exceptional.  And frankly these are floors that I plan to have in the unit for the next 20-30 years, so an extra day or two of installation seems like a very reasonable sacrifice to make in order to have them look exceptional.  I was very impressed with his work product, especially around edges (doorframes, cabinets, etc).
Because it was raining much of the week he did the installation, he did a fair amount of the cutting inside.  This created a lot of dust in our home, and I would have liked to see him at least spend some more time cleaning the floors once he was done.  But this only drops his grade on "professionalism" from an A to a B.
Overall, the most important thing to me by far was the way the end product looks, and getting it done at a reasonable price.  Things like timing & cleanup are minor and short-lived inconveniences, which I am happy to overlook based on the exceptional job he did providing us with great-looking floors.

Work was done quickly and I love my floor again. It was bucklee up because water got beneath because I have the thinner Brasilan wood floor ( which I would recoment if I had to buy it again)

Bill was prompt to return my call, come out and do an estimate, as well as to deliver the estimate.  He did bring his wife with him to do the estimate which was unexpected, but okay.
We scheduled the work a month out. The first week was to pull out the carpet from the family room, hallway, and stairs. And then install the new hardwood. Due to work he already had scheduled, we skipped a week. The 3rd week was sanding, stain, and poly.
Experience:Bill showed up relatively on time the first day, but then left early to fix something from a previous job.The second day, again was an abbreviated work day. Essentially the entire 4 work days they might have put in 8 hours only once.
*******Mid-way through one of the days his brother started smelling like pot.*******  I spoke BIll  to about this, which he seemed unaware of and noted that he would have a discussion with his brother about it.  It is completely unacceptable to do drugs while on the job nonetheless outside of my house in a neighborhood full of children.
At the end of the first week, Bill ask if he could come the second week (which recall from above was not a working week on my job due to another scheduled job) to work a day or two on the areas behind the stove and refrigerator. He said this would not shorten his effort the 3rd week.  Being that I was already away from the office for the scheduled two weeks I declined. The third week they completed the sanding, stain and poly.  As all entrances and exits to the house were being worked on and I was pregnant (needed to stay away from the fumes) we had to stay in a hotel.
Finished product: The good: The color of the stain we chose looks good.  The abutting of the new and old hardwood floors looks good. We did not have them seamed together but were worried about the wear on the old hardwood showing through even after sanding.  This is a non-issue and potentially the only thing they did well. The Bad:In a quick glance the finished product looks good.  Upon spending a few moments the following items are very much discovered.1. There is stain all over the trim. I do mean all over. It is embarrasing to have people over. I hope that people don't notice what a mess the trim is due to the stain that is on our white trim.2. There are very bad sanding marks.  The number of circular buffing marks in the floor is beyond ridiculous. 3.  The are visible dust spots in the poly.4. They did not pull up the toilet as they said they would but instead worked around it. The lack of effort shows.5. Stair risers -white paint is still shows through the stain in many spots.
We discussed all of these issues with Bill.  He made some excused and eventually conceded to coming back in the spring and redoing the kitchen. He reduced the amount due by $1000.   Note: we did not call Bill to come back in the spring. I can't say strongly enough we never want him back in our home.
The effort extended, the quality of the work performed, and the price for what we got is absolutely unacceptable.  It is hard to believe he calls himself a professional.*******DO NOT HIRE unless you want a crappy job, risk of drug use on your premises, and workers that only put in partial days.*******************
We are beyond disappointed in the work. I feel cheated.  I am embarrassed by the state of our floors.  The work he did is shameful. If I could prevent him from working in hardwood floors again I would :(
